58IB Change of Command: Pedralvez out, Lamzon in
TANDAG SURIGAO DEL SUR (September 24) – 58th Infantry Battalion Commander Col Benjamin S. Pedralvez, Jr. of the Philippine Army turn over his command to Executive Officer LTC Erwin Rommel Lamzon on Tuesday, September 22 at 58IB Multi purpose hall, Barangay Dayoan, Tago of this province.
Col. Pedralvez serves as Battalion Commander of 58IB, for almost two years. 58IB occupies the first district of Surigao del Sur.
Col. Pedralvez has been quite visible in the province and has had numerous accomplishments. He has implemented several programs in the province through the efforts of his troops and in cooperation of the local government units.
Some of these were the road projects and bridges located in Tago with assistance from the Multi Sectoral Task Group (MSTG). He also initiated the surrender of a number of former rebels and recovered several firearms during combat operations. His troops also conducted several medical missions in the depressed barangays of the province.
Col Pedralvez revealed, that after the turn over he will assume the post of Battalion commander of the 23rd IB based in Sibagat Agusan del Sur and Cagayan de Oro. “A bigger area of responsibility and tasked to accomplished compared from the previous one,” he said.
His successor, the incoming Battalion Commander LTC Lamzon promised to do his best and to be as good as the outgoing commander. He is counting on his knowledge, capacity and previous experiences to get the job done.
The prestigious event was attended by 401st Brigade Commander, Col. Danilo Fabian who represents BGEN Chan of 4ID as Guest of Honor and Speaker, Governor Vicente Pimente, some mayors and vice mayors of the 1st District of Surigao del Sur, head of offices of the provincial government as well as provincial heads of the different national line agencies. PNP arrests illegal drug suspect
On September 22, 2009, personnel from Sibagat Municipal Police Station led by PInsp. Jumark Quisao CaΓ±a conducted operation against illegal drugs, which resulted to the apprehension of one Ronald Jamonil Mondia, 28 years old and a resident of Purok-1, Barangay Poblacion, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
Said PNP personnel confiscated/uprooted three hills of fully grown Marijuana plants allegedly cultivated by the said suspect.
Confiscated marijuana plants were brought to PNP Crime Laboratory Office for examination while the suspect now under the custody of Sibagat Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)

PNP arrests wanted person
PNP personnel of Placer Municipal Police Station led by PSI Alejandro Galido Recimo, Chief of Police, arrested one Sammy Hora Parnada, 38 years old, single and a resident of Barangay Sani-Sani, Placer, Surigao del Norte on September 21, 2009 at around 10:00 o'clock in the evening at the above-mentioned place.
Suspect was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest (WOA) issued by Hon. Florifinas Buyser, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 30, Surigao City, charged for Attempted Rape docketed under criminal case number 7730 with recommended bail bond of One Hundred Twenty Thousand Pesos (P120,000.00).
Said suspect is listed as number five most wanted person in Placer, Surigao del Norte. Arrested suspect was immediate turned over to the issuing court and further committed to Provincial Jail.
Also, on September 22, 2009 at around 3:20 in the afternoon, at Barangay Bioto, Tandag, Surigao del Sur, one Jolan Molato Manuong, 30 years old, married and a resident of Sitio Nangka, of the above-mentioned Barangay was arrested by personnel of Tandag Police Station led by SPO2 Loreto Suarez. by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Vicente Luna, Presiding Judge of RTC 11th Judicial Region, Branch 40, Tandag, Surigao del Sur for the crime of Rape docketed under criminal case number 5099 with no bail bond recommended.

Report on highway robbery
Personnel of Tago Municipal Police Station received report regarding robbery incident that transpired at National Highway, Sitio Cabugi, Barangay Unidos, Tago, Surigao del Sur on September 23, 2009 at around 6:00 O'clock in the afternoon.
Upon receipt of the said report, personnel from Tago Municipal Police Station proceeded to the said area and conducted investigation. Investigation disclosed that one Panel truck bearing plate number ZBW-499, color red, owned by Tanduay Distilleries INC., driven by Dexter Esperanza Castillo, 42 years old, married and a resident of Libertad, Butuan City together with two companions were flagged down at gun point and robbed by unidentified armed group.
Said armed group carted cash money amounting to Thirty Thousand Pesos (P30,000.00), one unit cellular phone and wallet containing Four Thousand Pesos (P4,000.00) and fled to unknown direction after the incident.
Elements of Tago Municipal Police Station are still conducting manhunt/follow-up operations against the fleeing suspects. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)

On September 23, 2009 at around 11:00O'clock in the morning at Barangay Lemon, Butuan City, one service vehicle, Toyota Corolla bearing plate number KCD 367 was accidentally bumped by Isuzu Elf model 4BA1 bearing plate number ZES 445.
Investigation disclosed that the said service vehicle was driven by Hon. Felixberto L. Guiritan, of legal age, married, Chief Prosecutor of Butuan City while traveling at the above-mentioned place together with PO2 Joel Docdoc, and said Isuzu Elf was driven by one Jerry Quijada Haganap, of legal age, married and a resident of Purok-1, Silangan, Tiniwisan, Butuan City.
Said incident resulted to the damaged of the right portion of the said service vehicle and injuries on the different parts of the body of Hon. Guiritan and PO2 Docdoc. Said victims were brought to Butuan City Medical Center for medical treatment while the Isuzu Elf and the driver are now under the custody of Butuan City Police Station 4 for proper disposition. PNP personnel of Placer Municipal Police Station led by PSI Alejandro Galido Recimo, Chief of Police, arrested one Sammy Hora Parnada, 38 years old, single and a resident of Barangay Sani-Sani, Placer, Surigao del Norte on September 21, 2009 at around 10:00 o'clock in the evening at the above-mentioned place.
Suspect was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest (WOA) issued by Hon. Florifinas Buyser, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 30, Surigao City, charged for Attempted Rape docketed under criminal case number 7730 with recommended bail bond of One Hundred Twenty Thousand Pesos (P120,000.00).
Said suspect is listed as number five most wanted person in Placer, Surigao del Norte. Arrested suspect was immediate turned over to the issuing court and further committed to Provincial Jail.
Also, on September 22, 2009 at around 3:20 in the afternoon, at Barangay Bioto, Tandag, Surigao del Sur, one Jolan Molato Manuong, 30 years old, married and a resident of Sitio Nangka, of the above-mentioned Barangay was arrested by personnel of Tandag Police Station led by SPO2 Loreto Suarez. by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Vicente Luna, Presiding Judge of RTC 11th Judicial Region, Branch 40, Tandag, Surigao del Sur for the crime of Rape docketed under criminal case number 5099 with no bail bond recommended.
Arrested person is now under the custody of Tandag Police Station for proper disposition. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)

Report on highway robbery
Personnel of Tago Municipal Police Station received report regarding robbery incident that transpired at National Highway, Sitio Cabugi, Barangay Unidos, Tago, Surigao del Sur on September 23, 2009 at around 6:00 O'clock in the afternoon.
Upon receipt of the said report, personnel from Tago Municipal Police Station proceeded to the said area and conducted investigation. Investigation disclosed that one Panel truck bearing plate number ZBW-499, color red, owned by Tanduay Distilleries INC., driven by Dexter Esperanza Castillo, 42 years old, married and a resident of Libertad, Butuan City together with two companions were flagged down at gun point and robbed by unidentified armed group.
Said armed group carted cash money amounting to Thirty Thousand Pesos (P30,000.00), one unit cellular phone and wallet containing Four Thousand Pesos (P4,000.00) and fled to unknown direction after the incident.
Elements of Tago Municipal Police Station are still conducting manhunt/follow-up operations against the fleeing suspects. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)

Report on vehicular accident
On September 23, 2009 at around 11:00O'clock in the morning at Barangay Lemon, Butuan City, one service vehicle, Toyota Corolla bearing plate number KCD 367 was accidentally bumped by Isuzu Elf model 4BA1 bearing plate number ZES 445.
