Report on shooting incident
On August 27, 2009 at 4:30 in the afternoon at Barangay Taglatawan, Bayugan City particularly in front of Santiago Store, PO1 Michael Anob and PO1 Peter Cutamora, PNP personnel of Bayugan City Police Station who were undergoing Field Training Program (FTP) were shot by unidentified armed groups while conducting roving patrol at the said place.
The incident resulted to the sudden death of PO1 Michael Anob and seriously wounding PO1 Peter Cutamora, who was rushed to MJ Santos Hospital at Butuan City for medical treatment.
First progress report on shooting victimizing PNP personnel
PO1 Peter Cutamora who was rushed to MJ Santos Hospital in Butuan City expired after undergoing medical proceedings several hours. The team from Bayugan Police Station led by Chief of Police PCINSP Rudy T Cuyop conducted hot pursuit operations at Barangay Marcelina, Bayugan, Agusan del Sur and apprehended one of the suspects identified as Pelagio Mantua, 26 years old and resident of New Visayas, La Union, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur and the recovery of two motorcycles (TMX and Sunriser) used as get away vehicles by the suspects. Report on loose firearms
On August 27, 2009 at 7:30 in the morning at Purok-4, Barangay Mat-I, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, PNP elements of San Francisco Municipal Police Station led by SPO4 Joselito Apas apprehended a certain Warlito Limbago Karahay, 29 years old, married, casual employee of Filipinas Palm Oil Plantation for illegal possession of firearm.
Confiscated from his possession was one unit cal .38 revolver with defaced serial number and loaded with six live ammos. Said suspect and confiscated firearm now under the custody of San Francisco Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)
Report on fire incident
On August 28, 2009 at 4:00 in the afternoon at Barangay Libertad, Butuan City, seven classrooms including the Principal Office and Canteen of Libertad National High School was razed by fire.
PNP elements of Butuan City Police Station 3 led by PSINSP Ave Mario M Romero proceeded to the area and provided perimeter security while personnel from Bureau of Fire Protection fought the flames.
Initial investigation disclosed that the fire started at the small shanty situated near the aforesaid Building and owned by Felimon Plaza, 38 years old and utility of the School. Fire Declared under control at about 4:30 in the afternoon of same date. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)
Report on stolen motorcycle
On August 28, 2009 around 9:40 in the evening at Barangay Caasinan, Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte, one Jophet Loreno, 21 years old, single and a resident of Purok-3 Barangay Tagbungabong, RTR, Agusan del Norte reported to Cabadbaran Municipal Police Station that his motorcycle was stolen by two unidentified persons.
PNP elements of Cabadbaran Municipal Police Station led by PO3 Estoque immediately responded to the report and conducted hot pursuit operation which resulted to the recovery of said motorcycle abandoned at the National Highway near the newly constructed public market of Barangay Mabini, Cabadbarn, Agusan del Norte.
Said motorcycle was brought to Cabadbaran Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)
Arrest of wanted person
On August 28, 2009 around 12:45 in the afternoon at Purok-3 Barangay Tuburan, Cortes, Surigao del Sur, joint team from Cortes Municipal Police Station led by SP03 Isiang, Regional Intelligence Unit 13 led by SPO2 Pelandas and a team from Surigao del Sur Provincial Intelligence arrested one Rogelio Bibat Talisay, 44 years old, married and a resident of the above-mentioned place by virtue of Warrant of Arrest (WOA) issued by Hon Ermelindo Andal, Executive Judge RTC 11th Judicial Region branch 27, Tandag, Surigao del Sur.
Suspect was charged for qualified theft, docketed under Criminal Case no. 4867 with a fixed bail bond of Php 24,000.00.
Said person was brought to said station for proper disposition. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)
Report on illegal logging
On August 28, 2009 around 1:30 dawn at Barangay Payasan, Lianga, Surigao del Sur, joint personnel from Lianga Municipal Police Station led by the chief of Police PINSP Christian Lipke Rafols II & MENRO, apprehended one ten wheeler truck loaded with illegally cut sawn lawaan lumbers estimated to more or less 7,000 board feet with unknown claimant.
The confiscation was made during a checkpoint conducted at the aforesaid place. The truck together with the lumbers onboard were brought to Lianga Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)
Report on vehicular accident
On August 30, 2009 at 11:00 in the morning along national Highway in Purok-2, Barangay Lapinigan, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, one unit Honda XRM color red owned by alias “Ba-joy Asis”, resident of Maligaya, Rosario, Agusan del Sur while traveling from Rosario heading San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, trying to evade an astray dog on the road which cause to swerve and loss control hitting PVC Pipe temporarily cordoned for the installation of underground technology construction for Globe telecom.
Victims identified later at DO Plaza Memorial Hospital as one Eric Gaga, of legal age, single and resident of Radaza compound, Butuan City who sustained serious head and body injuries and one Roberto Lakilak, of legal age and resident of Barangay Pasta, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur who was succumbed to death while treated at said hospital due to head injuries.
Victims are reportedly chainsaw and welding mechanics of RN Machine shop, San Francisco , Agusan del Sur. Progress report to follow.
Also, at 6:00 in the evening of the same date at the National Highway of Purok 2, Barangay Hubang, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur One unit Yamaha STX motorcycle with sidecar color red with plate no. LM 8327 driven by Norberto Rada, of legal age, married and resident of Purok-6, Barangay Hubang, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur was accidentally sideswiped by a Mitsubishi Pajero with plate no. MBK 174, driven by Antonio Bahala, of legal age and resident of Barangay Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.
The incident resulted to the injuries of four passengers and immediately brought to DO Plaza Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
