Gov urges Agusanons to get involved vs climate change

Butuan City (20 April) - Agusan del Sur Gov. Maria Valentina Plaza issued a letter addressed to all chiefs of offices of the national and local government units/agencies to unite and join the provincial government in the "Grow-a-Tree", a tree planting activity on April 22, 2010, as initial and simple share of every particiapnt in mitigating climate change in response to global call, and in line with the celebration of the Philippines Earth Day and the Philippine Earth Month this April.
Gov. Plaza also calls on the chiefs of offices to instruct the people in their respective offices to join Earth Day Network Philippines (EDNP) 10 Million Movement and adopt the 101 ways for a greener lifestyle, committing a green act for mother earth.
According to Gov. Plaza, President Arroyo herself has been serious about the issue on climate change.
"For this month alone, while the President attended the 16th ASEAN summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, she said she will push for the country?s interest, and one of whom is the climate change. The President said she will seek the support of the ASEAN to take a collective action in urging developed countries to take aggressive actions to mitigate climate change," Gov. Tina Plaza said.
President Arroyo also received the Teddy Roosevelt International Conservation Award recently in Washington DC in recognition of here forefront efforts and advocacies in support of the coral triangle initiatives where she advocates and spearhead the multi-nation effort to preserve and protect marine resources to ensure stable marine food resources while doing sustainable environmental protection.
With this activities lined up for the month of April in line with the celebration of the Philippine Earth Month, Gov. Tina Plaza hope that everyone?s contribution will make a remarkable difference geared towards an ecologically balanced environment. (PIA-Agusan del Sur)

BUTUAN CITY – Ang Policy Center of Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) inabagan sa Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) mopahigayon sa usa ka debate kon Candidates’ forum karong Miyerkules ( April 21) didto sa FSUU Gymnasium.
Ang nasampit nga forum bahinon ngadto sa tulo ka hunta. Hatagan sa 10 minutos ang mga kandidato sa paghatag sa ilang mensahe sa publiko.
Ang mga magpapili sa pagka-kongresista, pagka-mayor ug bise-mayor mohatag sab sa ilang mensahe sa katawhan.
Si Prof. Alma Eleazar isip moderator ang mosinyas sa signal sa kada kandidato alang sa ilang tubag sa matag-pangutana nga may limitadong oras lamang.
Ang mga kandidato ang mopili sa panelist nga mangutana pinaagi sa pagpunit sa pangalan sulod sa gi-andam nga kahon.
Adunay gitagana nga 3 minutos sa pagtubag sa mga pangutana. Tagsa-tagsaon ang mga kandidato sa pagpatubag sa ihatag nga pangutana gikan sa panelist.
Giingon nga motubag lamang ang kandidato sulod sa 3 ka minutos nga gigahin alang kaniya.
Tugotan ang kada-kandidato sa pagpadayag sa iyang opinyon sulod gihapon sa 3 minutos nga gitugot sa panelist.

Two simple turnover ceremonies were held only three (3) days apart in NFA-Agusan del Sur last April 5, 2010 and in NFA-Agusan del Norte last April 8, 2010.

By virtue of Special Order No. AO-2K10-03-053 issued on March 19, 2010, ARD Rolando M. Maravilla assumed the gargantuan role as ARD of NFA-Caraga Regional Office and concurrent Provincial Manager of Agusan del Norte Provincial Office.

Meanwhile, exactly nine months after PM Sebastian R. Solano Jr. assumed office at NFA Agusan del Norte, he is back at NFA-Agusan del Sur vice Outgoing PM Rey Salvatierra who will be transferred to NFA Region IX as Acting Assistant Regional Manager.

During the turnover rites, PM Solano and PM Salvatierra expressed their feelings over the recent turn of events. They both thanked the employees for their support and cooperation during their respective stints. Moreso, ARD Maravilla looked forward on the tasks ahead believing that NFA employees will work together as one family.

On the other hand, employees from Agusan del Sur showcased selected songs for despedida/bienvenida party. Agusan del Norte employees also prepared a simple program for the occasion. Employees expressed their high hopes for a harmoniously working relationship with new leadership at hand.
