12 NPA cadres surrender in Surigao del Norte
CAMP BANCASI, Butuan City, March 6 -- Twelve cadres of the New People’s Army (NPA) recently surrendered to the elements of the Surigao del Norte-based 4th Infantry Division in Barangay Lahi in Gigaquit town, Surigao del Norte.
They were without firearms when they surrendered, authorities said.
Military authorities identified them as Juben Bausing (Ka Denden), Romel Bayang (Ka Ram), Francis Guergio (Ka Loloy), Ruben Bausing (Ka Roger), Michael Guergio Arguelles (Ka Dodong), Marcelo Bardillo Sumaylo (Ka Jerry), Binifacio Bayang Comandante (Ka Ibon), Dante Sajolan Larong (Ka Dolfin), Allan Cuares Jamesola (Ka Allan), Jayson Larong (Ka Jonas), Renato Bayang (Ka Ren), and Ramil Jamesola (Ka Ramil).
The 12 were said to be members of the NPA Militia ng Bayan (MB), under Squad 1 of Guerrilla Front Committee 16-A of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP)-NPA North Eastern Mindanao Regional Command (NEMRC).
“These development is a clear indicator that NPA members are not satisfied with their lives within the armed struggle," the military pointed out. (MUC/PIA-Caraga)
