Gen Plaza to pay courtesy call to Butuan officials

BUTUAN CITY, May 30 (PIA) – Following her appointment by Pres. Benigno S.Aquino III as Brigadier General of the Reserved Force of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, BGen Charito B Plaza will pay a courtesy call today to Butuan City Mayor Ferdinand Amante Jr. and Vice-Mayor Lawrence Lemuel Fortun at the City Hall here.
In a text message sent to PIA-Caraga, BGen Plaza said that aside from her scheduled courtesy call with the two top officials of the city, she will also formally turn-over the city’s Sports Complex and Barangay sites for the landless which are among of her projects when she was still serving as Representative of the first Congressional District of Agusan del Norte covering Butuan City and the municipality of Las Nieves.
Plaza further said she has already assumed her rank as AFP Brigadier General and will be scheduled to pay courtesy calls to officials in Caraga Region. “My courtesy call with Mayor Amante is my first courtesy call, others will follow,” Plaza said.
Also, Plaza said part of her courtesy call is to conduct briefing to LGU, and professional industries on the process of recruitment of AFP Reservists.
With her appointment, BGen Plaza makes a milestone in the history of AFP Reserved Force being the first lady General of the AFP, first lady Brigadier General of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), and the first lady General in Mindanao. (PIA-Caraga)
AFP, PNP to pursue perpetrators of the recent bomb scare in Surigao City

SURIGAO CITY, May 30 (PIA) – 4th Infantry Division Commander MGen. Victor Felix vowed to pursue the perpetrators of the recent bomb scare in Surigao City.
“We will look after the perpetrators of the said incident together with the Surigao PNP. Dapat lang na managot ang mga NPA (New People's Army) na ‘yan sa kanilang ginawa dahil pati mga walang kalaban-laban na civilians ay nadadamay sa kanilang pakikipaglaban sa ating gobyerno.”
MGen. Felix made the statement after a grenade, allegedly owned by communist terrorist CPP-NPA was found placed inside a black bag at Km. 8, Brgy. Bonifacio, Surigao City.
A report from the 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade of the 4th ID, PA revealed that around 6:15pm, Saturday, May 28, a grenade was found by two children at the aforementioned place.
Upon receipt of the information, elements of the 30th Infantry Battalion and 42nd Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Company led by 1Lt. Joe Patrick Martinez immediately secured the area to protect the people and onlookers while waiting for the Explosive and Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit of Surigao City PNP to properly dispose the said item.

TANDAG CITY, May 30 (PIA) - The Philippine National police (PNP) in Surigao del Sur is getting ready for the opening of classes on June 6.
According to Police Provincial Director S/SUPT Julito Diray, the implementation of the annual Operation Plan (OPLAN) Balik-Eskwela during the start of school year is just a matter of activation.
Diray stressed, under such plan, his office is focused on three key areas: police visibility, traffic management and control, and fielding additional personnel to ensure safety of the school children.

BUTUAN CITY, May 30 (PIA) – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) was granted recently the authority to be a wholesale electricity spot market metering services provider (WMSP).
Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Chairperson Zenaida G. Cruz-Ducut awarded the certificate of authority on May 23, 2011 to NGCP through the corporation’s Board Director and Chief Administrative Officer Anthony L. Almeda.
The certificate finalizes the provisional authority previously granted to NGCP as metering services provider.

NGCP, the private concessionaire of the transmission network since 2009, then became the de facto metering service provider of NPC and other energy suppliers for the purpose of billing their energy sales to their customers.
With the operation of the WESM, NGCP has rehabilitated and upgraded the metering points from the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao grids to distribution utilities and other load customers to make these metering facilities “WESM‐ready.” Meter boxes, back-up meters, and revenue meters for substations are some of the metering structures that have already been replaced and enhanced.
The Automated Meter Data Retrieval (AMR) System is also in place to satisfy the requirement of the WESM for the daily delivery of load profile‐type of meter data from all metering facilities.
NGCP is now headed by Mr. Henry T. Sy, Jr. as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Sy, the son and namesake of mall, retail, real estate, and banking magnate Henry Sy, Sr., also heads several corporations under the Sy Group of Companies, including SM Development Corporation which was recognized by the Asian Wall Street Journal as the 9th most admired corporation in the Philippines for 2010. “Mas pinaigting pa ng tanggapan ang kampanya laban sa illegal drugs, illegal possession of firearms, illegal logging, at iba pa. Isa rin sa mga na-accomplish ng tanggapan ay ang pagkahuli ng mga 26 na mga Chinese at Taiwanese nationals na walang legal na papeles para magtayo ng mga negosyo dito sa siyudad ng Butuan,” sinabi ni Sibayton.

BUTUAN CITY, Mayo 30 (PIA) - Matapos ang sunud-sunod na matagumpay na engkwentro ng mga kasapi ng 402nd Brigade ng Philippine Army sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Col Rodrigo Diapana, muling nakamit ng mga sundalo ang tagumpay sa pakikipaglaban sa mga rebelde sa Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
Ayon sa ulat, ang Division Reconnaisance Company (DRC) ng 402nd brigade sa pamumuno ni 1LT Pang-ay Opcon ay nagsagawa ng operasyon para sa seguridad ng Brgy. New Tubigon, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
Habang nasa operasyon, naka-engkwentro ang tropa ng mga sundalo ng humigit-kumulang sampung miyembro ng New People's Army (NPA) kabilang sa Sangay ng Partidong Platoon (SPP) 21B, Guerilla Front 21, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Command (NEMRC).
Naganap ang putukan sa pagitan ng dalawang tropa. Pagkatapos ng 10 minuto ang NPA ay umatras patungong hilaga bit-bit ang sugatang mga kasamahan nito, batay sa mga namataang patak ng dugo sa lugar.
Nakuha ng tropa ng pamahalaan ang dalawang M16 na may buradong serial number. Samantalang isang miyembro naman ng NPA ang napatay sa nasabing engkwentro.
Patuloy pa rin ang tropa ng pamahalaan sa pagsubaybay sa naturang lugar at paghahanap ng mga rebelde upang mahuli ang mga ito. Gayun pa man, ang mga sundalo ay handang tumulong sa mga rebeldeng nais na sumuko at magbalik loob sa pamahalaan.

Sa ginanap na pulong, ang tribung Manobo at Mamanwa ay sinasabing nag balik loob at katapatan sa pamahalaan matapos mapag tanto na ang kanilang pag suporta sa mga komunistang rebelde ay pag labag sa batas ng Pilipinas.

Ang NPA ay nakakuha ng probisyon sa pamamagitan ng tulong ng mga Manobo na bumibili ng mga pangangailangan ng rebeldeng grupo. Nakapag-release po tayo through the Department of Budget and Management ng five billion pesos for health insurance, this will cover the national government counterpart for health insurance premiums of indigents from 2007 to 2010 that were left unpaid by the previous administration. So nakapag-bigay na po tayo ng kaukulang kabayaran doon po sa PhilHealth,” si Valte miingon.
Si Valte usab namahayag nga ang 3.5 billion pesos nga gahin alang sa National Health Insurance nga programa sa gobyerno karong tuiga nagtumong sa paghatag ug health care sa mokabat 4.7 million ka mga kabusnga pamilyang Pilipino sa nasod.
“For 2011 naman ang allotment para sa National Health Insurance program is 3.5 billion pesos… so yung 3.5 billion ay naglalayong magbigay ng health care galing sa PhilHealth to 4.7 million indigent families just for this year alone,” si Valte miingon.
Si Valte dugang namahayag nga ang health care program sa adminstrasyong Aquino gi-implementar na sukad pa niadtong Oktubre sa niaging tuig ug kini nagtumbok nga ang 4.7 million ka mga pamilya wala mag-apil niadtong aduna nay insurance coverage. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)

Ang NPA ay nakakuha ng probisyon sa pamamagitan ng tulong ng mga Manobo na bumibili ng mga pangangailangan ng rebeldeng grupo. SURIGAO CITY, Mayo 30 (PIA) - Ang gobyernong Aquino nagpadayon pagpaningkamot, labi na gayod ang pagdumala sa budyet, ug kini mi-anunsyo pag pagawas sa bilyones ka pesos alang sa pag-abaga sa wala pa matapos nga obligasyon sa serbisyong panglawas alang sa katawhang Pilipino.

Ang maong nahisgutang kantidad gibilin nga wala pa mabayri sa miaging administrasyon.
Nakapag-release po tayo through the Department of Budget and Management ng five billion pesos for health insurance, this will cover the national government counterpart for health insurance premiums of indigents from 2007 to 2010 that were left unpaid by the previous administration. Si Valte usab namahayag nga ang 3.5 billion pesos nga gahin alang sa National Health Insurance nga programa sa gobyerno karong tuiga nagtumong sa paghatag ug health care sa mokabat 4.7 million ka mga kabusnga pamilyang Pilipino sa nasod.
“For 2011 naman ang allotment para sa National Health Insurance program is 3.5 billion pesos… so yung 3.5 billion ay naglalayong magbigay ng health care galing sa PhilHealth to 4.7 million indigent families just for this year alone,” si Valte miingon.
Si Valte dugang namahayag nga ang health care program sa adminstrasyong Aquino gi-implementar na sukad pa niadtong Oktubre sa niaging tuig ug kini nagtumbok nga ang 4.7 million ka mga pamilya wala mag-apil niadtong aduna nay insurance coverage. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)
