PRO 13 award partners during 16th PCR Month kick off

BUTUAN CITY, July 4
-– Media practitioners who are considered PNP’s partners in information dissemination were awarded today in time for the celebration of the 16th Police Community Relation (PCR) Month, Police Regional Office (PRO)-13. Awards were also given to personnel of the region’s police force who have shown exceptional performance.

Plaques of recognition were awarded to the PNP Press Corps, ABS CBN Butuan, DXJM, DXBC, DXBR and Butuan Star by Police Regional Director Reynaldo and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Caraga Regional Director Atty. Rene Burdeos.

Burdeos was the guest of honor during the kick-off ceremony held in Camp Rafael Rodriguez, Libertad, this city.

In his speech, Burdeos urged the policemen to abide and live up to the theme of “Matatag na Ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Kapolisan, Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Ligtas na Pamayanan.”

He said PCR activities should be sustained and be made on a regular basis like the conduct of dialogues as this can help in the rebuilding of the trust and confidence from the public.

The official likewise lauded the leadership of Rafal in recognizing good deeds of PNP members and ensuring community participation through the involvement of the media industry, sectoral groups, barangay leaders and church leaders.

Police Regional Office13 through the PCR Division aims to strengthen police-community partnership in addressing peace and order concerns, organize and mobilize sectors of the community as a united front against threat to peace and security, and help empower and develop people.

The kick off celebrations began with a motorcade of stakeholders, and followed with the presentation of awards to PNP members, individuals and organization at the parade ground.

Meanwhile, adjudged as Best PCR Police Commission Officer is Police Supt. Joseph Boquiren of Butuan City Police Station 1 and Best PCR Police Non Commission Officer is PO3 Leonides Yaoyao from Bayugan City Police in Agusan del Sur.

This year’s Best PCR Unit is the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office and the Nasipit Municipal Police Station.

Other awardees were Johann Jake Miranda from Surigao City Chamber of Commerce, Maria Victoria Trojello of the Rotary Club of Downtown Butuan, Karancho, LGU of the Municipality of Sison, Surigao del Norte and Barangay Libertad as Supportive Barangay.

A Medalya ng Pagtulong sa Nasalanta was also awarded to Police Chief Inspector Mangandog Arab, Police Senior Inspector Mariano Lukban from Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office, Police Inspector Edgardo Medriano from Dinagat Islands PPO, Police Inspector Charity Galvez of Agusan del Sur PPO, SPO4 Primo Sagaysay of Agusan del Norte PPO, SPO4 James dela Fuerte of Butuan City Police Office and SPO4 Leonilo Lagumbay of the 13th Regional Public Safety Batallion.

A tree planting ceremony was also held in from of the Admin Building of PRO 13.

ACF-AECID turns-over project to Surigao del Sur

TANDAG CITY, July 4 (PIA)
-- The Action Contra la Faim or Action Against Hunger-Agencia EspaΓ±ola Cooperacion International Para El Desarrolllo (ACF-AECID), an international non-profit organization, has recently turned-over all its projects in five municipalities of Surigao del Sur including this city.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) held at the provincial social hall here was attended by Eric Fort, Head of Mission of the ACF-Philippines along with Gov. Johnny Pimentel, respective city and municipal mayors and other concerned representatives. 

The MOU contained the commitment of the provincial government to provide technical assistance for the sustainability of the projects.

The event also signaled the exit of ACF-AECID here after a five-year stint of providing funding support and assistance in the form of sub-projects implemented in selected 16 barangays.

Some projects implemented are: "Botika ng Barangay (BnB) or Rural Pharmacies where BnB operators received relevant and timely trainings to equip them with capability that will ensure success of the project ground; Farm tools, equipments and post harvest facilites; animal dispersal (carabao, cattle and swine); and technical trainings on farm development and more. The said projects are located in the municipalities of Cagwait, San Miguel, Cortes, Lanuza, Carmen and the City of Tandag.

Meanwhile, in his message, Fort expressed his deepest thanks and appreciation to all their partners in the project implementation due the laudable efforts and involvement extended.

In his acceptance speech, Gov. Pimentel vowed to sustain the projects and even exhorted the beneficiaries to do the same.

Rosas ug mga mayores ug opisyales sa nagkadaiyang munisipyo.

– Nagmalampusong gipahigayon ang one-day training on Lobster/Grouper culture in Marine Cages didto sa isla sa Nonoc, Surigao City niadtong adlawng Biyernes, Hunyo 1, 2011. 

Ang maong programa gitambongan ug gipaluyohan ni Surigao City Mayor Ernesto T. Matugas uban usab sa pagpangulo ni Mr. Isaias Elumba ang hepe sa City Agriculture Office. Lakip na sa mga mihatag ug presensya mao ang mga opisyal sa isla nan Nonoc, Lisondra, Talisay, Aurora lakip isab sa Brgy. Anomar. 

Sa pamahayag ni Mayor Matugas sija ming-saad nga hatagan og igong suporta ang maong programa tungod kay usa lamang kini sa mga programa ubos sa iyang administrasyon nga dili lamang sa mga mag-uuma kon dili lakip isab sa mga mangingisda kon managatay. Diin matod pa niini kini nga training daku karajaw nga tabang para sa mga residente nan nasangpit nga baranggay aron maoy ilang panginabuhian. 

Samtang sa laing bahin usab gipahimang-noan ni Mayor Matugas ang mga residente nga kinahanglan usab sila mamahimong responsable sa pagbantay sa atong kadagatan ilabina sa mga mupahigayon ug iligal nga pagpanagat gamit ang dinamita. Hugot usab nga ge kampanya nan Mayor ang getawag nga “Bantay Dagat” aron mahatagan proteksyon ang ilang gelusad nga programa hangtod sa kini magmalamposon sa hingpit.

Nalipay isab si Mayor Matugas sa mga residente nga diin sila desido ug interesado gajud nga maka-angkon ug trabaho pina-agi na sa pag-panagat dili lamang sa mga isda kon dili lakip usab sa gitawag nga Lobster o Banagan. Nanghinaut pa si Mayor Matugas nga dili kini mahunong tungod kay sija muhimu sa pagbisita aron ija kini efollow-up kung unsa nay resulta sa ilang gilusad nga programa.
