Agusan del Sur Vice-Gov lauded 402nd Brigade

BUTUAN CITY, July 23 (PIA) -- Vice Governor Santiago Cane of the province of Agusan del Sur recently lauded the gallantry and discipline practiced by the men and women of the 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade.
During the 38th founding anniversary of the brigade, Cane pointed out that the gallantry of the soldiers headed by Col. Rodrigo T. Diapana is a noble act and needs to be commended.
Also, Cane said the soldiers of the brigade are well-disciplined, honorable and gentlemen.
“I have never heard since time immemorial that the troops in this brigade violated the mandates in the constitution… Since the time of Col. Carolina, then to Col. Gupana until now during the leadership of Col. Diapana, we never heard that the soldiers under this brigade abused civilians… They are truly the model soldiers that we are looking for,” he said.
The province’s second highest official added that the 402nd Brigade has demonstrated a good example of public servants. “They are in our province purposely to protect our lives, properties and to keep peace within our midst,” Cane said.
Cane further said, since time immemorial, all the Brigade Commanders of the 402nd IB leave their posts because they are promoted. “This means that the performance of this Brigade is outstanding,” he said.
Furthermore, Cane said the constituents of the province are very fortunate to have been chosen by the Armed Forces of the Philippines to establish the headquarters of the brigade because this leads to peace and security in the province.
“The provincial government is very thankful and we are in deed gratitude that the Armed Forces of the Philippines has chosen New Leyte, Awa as the site of the headquarters of the brigade which makes the area peaceful,” Cane said. (PIA-Caraga)
