PDEA identifies illegal drugs hot spots in Agusan del Sur

AGUSAN DEL SUR, Jan. 17 (PIA) -- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Caraga Region has identified a barangay in Bayugan City as hot spot on the trading of illegal drugs.
On the other hand, two barangays in the municipality of Prosperidad are suspected to have Marijuana plantation sites after PDEA, the PNP, the army and other stakeholders confiscated 532 fully grown marijuana and seedlings in Sitio Umayam, Lapaz on June, 2011 and uprooted 5,371 hills in Sition Mactan on July 8.
According to PDEA representative, there are two illegal drugs choices that users in Agusan del Sur prefer and these are Methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and marijuana.
“We have also identified the landing points of these drugs coming here in Agusan del Sur. The first choice of landing by the traffickers is Surigao City/ Surigao del Norte, Cabadbaran City/ Agusan del Norte, Butuan City, Bayugan City, Barobo, Surigao del Sur and Bislig, also in Surigao del Sur. The modus operandi here are, they are using minors and women as courier and seller of drugs, use cellular phones in the conduct of illegal drug transaction and the use of “kwarta padala” as mode for transfer of payment. To date, we have a total of 144 in our watch list where 92 are active and 52 are considered suspended file,” PDEA representative said.
According to PDEA, in spite of problems encountered like lack of manpower, cooperation of elected officials, prosecution and custody of apprehended suspects and the witnesses, they have conducted eight anti-drug operations as the year 2011 ended resulting to 12 drug personalities arrested and eight cases file in court.
“And in order that we can get the full and sincere cooperation of everybody, we plan to conduct seminars to local officials re RA 9165, and we suggest that we create the Provincial Anti-drug Abuse Council (PADAC) including the MADAC and the BADAC. In this manner, we will have a coordinated effort in curbing the trade and use of illegal drugs in Agusan del Sur,” PDEA representative said. (PIA-Agusan del Sur)

Si Matugas miingon nga ang espisipikong pokus mao ang gilayon nga pagtukod og dugang mga eskuylahan, ang Provincial Hospital sa Sta. Cruz, Bad-as, Placer; implementasyon sa organic agriculture ug Mari culture; ug ang pagtukod sa community learning center, women’s center ug mga kooperatiba.
Uban ang pag-ila sa papel sa mga senior citizens sa katilingban, ang gobernador usab misaad sa implementasyon sa health day alang sa mga senior citizens.

Sa pakighinabi kang Loreto Vice Mayor George Legaspi, kagahapon (Domingo) lang nakumpirma sa ilang han-ay nga anaa na sa luwas nga kahimtang ang mga apektadong residente sa mga nasangpit nga lugar.
Sumala pa sa bise mayor, kalmado na ang mga residente og wala matud pay mga balay o kabtangang nadamyos sa naasuyng hitabo.
Dugang pa sa opisyal, nakabalik na sa sentrong siyudad ang ilang mga gipadalang tao rason nga nikalma na usab sila tungod kay nasiguro na ang kaluwasan sa mga residente.
