Hospital in Agusan del Sur receives new donated
medical facilities
By Icey Mercado
AGUSAN DEL SUR, Aug. 7 (PIA) -- The D. O. Plaza
Memorial Hospital (DOPMH) received some 438,000 U.S. dollars worth of medical
facilities and supplies yesterday, August 6, 2012, from a foreign donor to
augment the existing facilities of the hospital while the expansion is going
on.
The medical facilities that include three X-ray
machines, 20 hospital beds and medical supplies were donated by the World
Medical Relief through the intervention of Agusan del Sur Governor Adolph
Edward Plaza.
Provincial Health Officer and Head of the DOPMH,
Dr. Joel Esparagoza said the provincial hospital has only 100 beds capacity but
admittance of patients reach up to 160, the reason why DOPMH is presently
expanding its building with around 50 beds capacity.
“Every now and then, patients from all over the
province and other neighboring provinces reached up to 160 to 170, and we are
committed to extend medical services to them. And with that number of patients,
our facilities are very lacking and our governor know this situation. That is
the reason why he did his best so that we can acquire additional facilities to
augment the facilities we have at the DOPMH especially that the construction of
the hospital building is on-going. We really need additional equipments and
facilities,” Dr. Esparagoza said.
Dr. Joel Esparagoza said DOPMH is a certified
secondary hospital (100 beds capacity). Early last year, the construction of a
P75 million extension started with 50 beds capacity, excluding the costs of its
modern medical facilities. This will address the increasing needs of the people
in Agusan del Sur and the neighboring provinces. With its present set up, DOPMH
is also serving patients from Surigao del Sur and Compostela Valley province.

Authority (MinDA) chair Sec. Luwalhati Antonino.
pangako: “on the straight and righteous path, and no one is left behind.”
Pilipinas.
Ito ay magsisilbi rin na official business
conference ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) para sa
government policymakers, investors at foreign trading partners. (RER/DSM/PIA-Caraga)
"The President is against abortion. There
has been disinformation going around that the President is for
"President Aquino wants natural family
planning centers (to be) established just to allay the fears that the President
has taken a position one way.... It is again a decision on us, on the parents
to choose—number one, that you will be informed of the manner and method of
family planning and that we will provide you help along that way. In that
manner, the President has advocated the establishment of natural family
preference po ang Presidente one way or the other. It’s the fact that we need
to inform the public of an information campaign, as to the manner of family
Kongreso. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)
