PhilHealth-Caraga turns-over P120,719.41 to beneficiaries of Nationwide PhilHealth Run 2013

BUTUAN CITY, June 24 (PIA) – The Philippine Health (PhilHealth) Insurance Corporation Caraga turned over on Friday the proceeds of the recently concluded Nationwide PhilHealth Run.

PhilHealth-Caraga Regional Vice President Johnny Sychua turned over to each of the local beneficiaries checks worth P120,719.41.

The beneficiaries are Bethany Homes and GESU Eucharistico Children's Inc. Sr. Jelanie Bohol and Sr. Genecerl Francisco of the GESU Eucharistico Children's Inc., and Sr. Pamela May Lonoy with Sr. Genevieve Borromeo of the Bethany Homes received the proceeds and expressed their gratitude to PhilHealth-Caraga for choosing their organizations as beneficiaries of the race.

Also, sponsors of the said run in Butuan City from various companies/establishments expressed their congratulations to the beneficiaries. They also hoped that the proceeds given to the two beneficiaries can help improve its facilities for the children they are taking cared of.

The PhilHealth Run, anchored on the theme “PhilHealth Run 2013: Nationwide Run for Mother and Child Protection,” was held in 18 regional offices nationwide on Feb. 17. These are: Manila, Baguio, Dagupan, Tuguegarao, Clark, Malolos, Sta. Tagalog news: Pamahalaan gustong palaging handa ang pamilyang Pilipino sa ano mang emerhensiya

AGUSAN DEL SUR, Hunyo 25 (PIA) -- Hiniling ng Malakanyang sa mga pamilyang Pilipino na bigyan pansin ang mga planong paghahanda upang masmabilis na makakilos kung magkakaroon ng anumang sakuna lalo na at nagsimula na ang panahon ng mga bagyo.

Sa panayam sa dzRB Radyo ng Bayan nitong Sabado, sinabi ni Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte na ang kasalukuyang layunin ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) ay ipatupad ang isang agresibong kampanya sa impormasyon para malaman ng mga pamilya ang kahalagahan planong paghahanda.

"Nananawagan kami, lalo na sa mga pamilya at sa mga indibiduwal na nakikinig, na repasuhin ang pampamilyang plano sa paghahanda. Kung kompleto ngang mga pang-emerhensiyang kagamitan ninyo sa bahay para hindi tayo nagugulat kapag nagkakaroon ng sakuna,” sabi ni Valte.

Sa pagdating ng tag-ulan, ito ay napakahalaga. Nananawagan kami sa lahat na repasuhin ang inyong pampamilyang planong pang emerhensiya para lagi tayong handa,” dagdag pa ni Valte.

Sa isang panayam noong nakaraang linggo, sinabi ni Valte na ang pamahalaan ay patuloy na naninindigan sa "zero-casualty policy" sa pagpasok ng mga bagyo sa bansa.

Sinabi ni Valte na pinag-utos ng Pangulo sa mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan na bigyan ng masmabigat na pansin ang mga maspinaka-apektado sa pagdating ng mga kalamidad.

“Ang Department of Social Welfare and Development, ang Department of the Interior and Local Government at ang NDRRMC ay nakikipag-ugnayan sa isa't isa para maihanda ang lahat sa pagdating ng mabagyong panahon,” sabi ni Valte.

“Sila ay gumagawa ng mga hakbangin o protokol na siyang magiging gabay tuwing may darating na bagyo sa loob ng teritoryo ng Pilipinas,” dagdag pa ni Valte. (DMS/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
