SurSur Liga ng mga Barangay set to hold 14th
chapter assembly

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, March 3 (PIA) – The
Liga ng mga Barangay (LNB) sa Pilipinas in Surigao del Sur is set to hold its
14th Chapter Provincial Assembly on March 4-7 at the Villa Maria Luisa Hotel,
this city.
The whole duration of the activity is split into
three major parts: Opening program on
Day One; Lecture Proper on Day Two; and General Assembly Proper on Day Three.
Meanwhile, the lecturers on particular topics who
will discuss on “The Rights to Property Ownership, Settlement of Family
Properties, and Boundary Conflict” are Atty. Mark Gaviola, Atty. Antonio
Azarcon, and DILG Surigao City Director John Reyl Mosquito, respectively.
With the theme “Unity Builds a Ship,” the assembly
headed by Chapter President Vicente Pimentel III will be graced by LNB National
President Edmund Abesamis, who is the guest speaker.
Also, prominent political personalities are set to
give their respective messages.
Based on the official program, Davao City Mayor
Rodrigo Duterte and Dinagat Islands Liga President Jesspaul Ecleo are one of
those listed along with Provincial Board Members Eleanor Momo and Conrad
Cejoco.
During the opening program, aside from the words
of welcome to be given by LNB Chapter President Pimentel for and in behalf of
the said organization, Tandag City Mayor Roxanne Pimentel and Vice-Governor
Manuel Alameda, Sr. will give the same welcome gestures.
The president of Mayor’s League, Carrascal Mayor
Vicente Pimentel, Jr. will do the honors of giving an inspirational talk.
Moreover, other political bigwigs who are lined up
to share some messages include Governor Johnny Pimentel, both congressmen
Philip Pichay and Florencio Garay of the 1st and 2nd Districts, and 1st

DILG to head dialogue on disaster preparedness in
SurSur

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, March 3 (PIA) – The
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Surigao del Sur is
set to spearhead a “Disaster Preparedness Dialogue” on March 4, 2015, this
city.
Dubbed as “OPERATION LISTO: Tamang Paghahanda
Tamang Aksyon,” the activity was said to aim at establishing a “common
understanding and appreciation on the preparedness manuals among Civil Society
Organizations (CSOs), Private Sector, Local Research Institutes (LRIs), and
Media.”
Pedrito Alacaba, DILG provincial chief, linked it to
the conduct of analysis, planning, communication, coordination “with Local
Disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils” apart from strengthening “network
and partnership with other key stakeholders in disaster management.”
Earlier, he pointed out that the disaster
preparedness program is “conceptualized” in order “to usher the preparedness of
local communities in the event that typhoons and floods occur.”
“The LGU Disaster Preparedness Manuals will serve
as checklist of early preparations for local chief executives and other key
personnel in the LGU and will help determine the readiness of LGU in times of

SurSur guv takes pride in hosting CRAM twice in a
row

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, March 3 (PIA) –
Governor Johnny Pimentel took pride in successfully hosting the Caraga Regional
Athletic Meet (CRAM) twice in a row—last year 2014 and the recently concluded
2015 CRAM.
On Monday, he described as “good news” before
capitol employees the special feat during the regular flag ceremony program.
Pimentel likewise said that what the province did
set a “benchmark” for other Caraga provinces to emulate.
“The 18th Caraga Regional Athletic Meet was very
successful,” the governor burst out.
“In fact, even the regional director congratulated
us,” Pimentel exclaimed referring to Dr. Rebecca Delapuz, officer-in-charge
(OIC) of DepEd Regional Office.
Meanwhile, based on the overall official result
among12 athletic delegations Caraga-wide, Surigao del Sur placed 3rd with 37
gold, 33 silver, and 64 bronze medals.
The proclaimed champion, Butuan City, topped the
list with 91 gold, 45 silver, and 58 bronze medals; trailed far behind by
Agusan del Sur with 41 gold, 31, silver, and 48 bronze medals.
In descending order based on the number of medals
earned, the rest of the delegations came as follows: 3rd Runner Up: Surigao City—31 gold, 30
silver, 38 bronze medals; 4th Runner Up: Surigao del Norte—20 gold, 28 silver;
34 bronze medals; 5th Runner Up: Tandag City—19 gold, 22 silver, 14 bronze
medals; 6th Runner Up: Dinagat Islands—19 gold, 20 silver, 27 bronze medals;
7th Runner Up: Agusan del Norte—12 gold, 24 silver, 23 bronze medals; 8th
Runner Up: Bislig City—9 gold, 28 silver, 27 bronze medals; 9th Runner Up:
Cabadbaran City—9 gold, 6 silver, 10 bronze medals; 10th Runner Up: Siargao Island—6 gold, 8 silver, 18 bronze
medals; and 11th Runner Up: Bayugan City—4 gold, 18 silver, 22 bronze medals.

tulad ng transportasyon at enerhiya, at tatalakayin ang mga nakamit na tagumpay
at mga hamon sa pagbubuklod ng urban infrastructure sa bansa.
Inaasahan din na tatalakayin nila ang
partisipasyon ng pribadong sektor sa pagtustus sa urban infrastructure kasama
na ang mga hakbang na gagawin para maisaayos ang pagsasanib balang araw ng
