BUB reporting system goes on-line
BUTUAN CITY, April 23 (PIA) - The Department of
Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga Conservation and Development
Division conducts a learning session on Bottom-Up-Budgeting (BUB) on-line
reporting system on April 16-17, 2015 at the DENR Regional Training Center,
Ambago, Butuan City.
The learning session aims to capacitate the key
players who will be responsible in providing systematic and efficient process
of reporting and analysis on the implementation of BUB project in the region.
The seminar was attended by 29 participants
composed of BUB focal person from field offices, National Greening Program
(NGP) technical staffs and regional office representatives.
“We are hoping that through the conduct of this
activity, we would be able to fast track the leveling-off of information and be
able to submit our reports on time,” NGP regional coordinator Sarah Parejo
said.
BUB is an approach used in preparing the budget
proposal of various agencies, taking into consideration the development needs
of cities/municipalities as identified in their respective local poverty
reduction action plans that shall be formulated with strong participation of
basic sector organizations and other civil society organizations.

DTI releases latest suggested retail prices

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Apr. 23 (PIA) -
The Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau (CPAB) under the Consumer
Protection Group of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently
released the suggested retail prices (SRP) of basic necessities and prime
commodities, as of April 16, 2015.
The new released suggested retail prices succeed
the March 15, 2015 SRP released.
The April 16, 2015 SRP is almost the same with the
March 15, 2015 SRP except for the reduction of the prices of the Nescafe
(Classic) 25g (grams) and Nescafe (Classic) 50g from the price of P20.75 down
to P19.70 and P41.00 down to P38.95, respectively.
Major retail establishments in the city will be
provided of the latest SRP for their information and posting for information of
the buying public.

BSP Caraga steps up campaign on demonetization
program

SAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands, Apr. 23 (PIA) - The
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) - Butuan City Branch represented by Francis
Alfred Bokingo and Glizrel Rose Zarate recently conducted an Information
Campaign on Demonetization Program of the Philippine Banknotes held at the
Provincial Guest Center, this municipality.
The activity aims to inform the public, through
the local government, about the Demonetization Program of the BSP which is the
process of removing the monetary value of the New Design Series (NDS) and to be
replaced by the New Generation Currency (NGC).
BSP personnel explained during the orientation
that the public may continue to use the NDS banknotes up to December 31, 2015
in paying and buying of goods and services and other business or financial
transactions requiring the use of cash and thereafter, the NDS banknotes will
no longer be accepted for payment transactions.
They encouraged everyone who has the NDS banknotes
to exchange the bills into the NGC bills with authorized financial institutions
such as; universal and commercial banks, thrift banks, and rural banks as well
as cooperative banks.
The said activity was attended by the provincial
and municipal employees from the different municipalities of the province.

DENR Caraga finishes century-old Cadastral Survey
BUTUAN CITY, April 23 (PIA) - The century-old
missing links of Cadastral Survey in Caraga Region was finally completed on
March 31, 2015 through the efforts of the assistant regional director for
Technical Services Atty. Paquito Rosal and his team, Department of Environment
and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga regional director Nonito M. Tamayo
said.
The DENR has accomplished the Cadastral Survey of
73 cities and municipalities in the region. Fifty one cities and municipalities
from 2008 to 2014 have been surveyed and approved with 54 cadastral projects. A
total of 843,317.839 hectares which include contested and uncontested areas
with approved surveys from 2011 to 2014 have been done.
“This was made possible through the efforts of ARD
Paquito Rosal who inspite of his ailment had personally attended meetings to
immediately solve land conflicts whenever possible. He is truly dedicated to
his job,” Regional Cadastral Coordinator Engr. Bernard A. Daitol said.
Cadastral Survey Program started in 1913, it
surveys a city, municipality or province to determine its metes and bounds or
political boundaries. It also covers the identification and delineation of
individual lots of all landowners and claimants and the establishment of survey
control points, popularly known as “mohon.”
The project is one of the priority programs of the
DENR Secretary Ramon JP Paje especially in the Aquino administration, wherein
he committed to finish the job by May 2015. The completion of the Cadastral
Survey can boost economic prosperity through reforming the country’s land

Tagalog News: Palasyo: 2016 election kailangang

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur, Abril 23 (PIA) -
Sinabi ng Palasyo na ang pangkalahatan na halalan sa Mayo, 2016 ay kailangang
matuloy kahit sa pagpatigil sa pakipagsundo sa pagsaayos sa mga panghalalang
makinarya na siyang maaring maging sanhi ng gulo sa ginagawang paghahanda sa
eleksiyon.
“Ang halalan ay kailangang matuloy. Ito ay iniutos
ng konstitusyon at lahat ay dapat sumunod sa konstitusyon. Nasisiguro namin na
ang Commission on Electionss (COMELEC) ay alam na alam ang kanilang kautusan na
dapat seguruhin na ang halalan ay mangyari sa 2016,” sinabi ni Presidential
Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda sa mga mamamahayag noong Miyerkoles sa isang
panayam sa Malakanyang.
Sumasagot si Lacierda sa tanong tungkol sa mga
alalahanin na ang halalan sa susunod na taon ay maaring ipagpaliban pagkatapos
na ipagpawalang bisa ng Korte Suprema ang P268.8 milyon na kontrata sapagitan
ng COMELEC at Smartmatic-Total Information Management para sa pag-aayos ng
82,000 na voting machines.
Ayon sa Korte Suprema, nilabag ng COMELEC ang
batas sa pagkamit ng direkta nilang inarkila ang Smartmatic-TIM para sa
pagmentina ng mga makina sa botohan kung saan dumaan sana sa public bidding.
“Mayroon tayong nanatiling batas para sa automated
elections kaya inaasahan natin ang COMELEC na tatalima sa umiiral na batas,”
sabi ni Lacierda.
“Sa banda ng teknikal na alalahanin, ipinaubaya
natin ito sa COMELEC para maseguro kung papaano ang pagpapalakad ng 2016 na
halalan sa gitna ng desisyon ng Korte Suprema,” sabi niya.
Sa ilalim ng konstitusyon, ang halalan ng pagiging
presidente at pagka bise presidente ay mangyayari tuwing ikalawang Lunes ng
