PDI embraces RH Law
BUTUAN CITY, July 11 (PIA) - Representatives from
the different sectors in the province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) participated in
the recent local government unit-led forum on the implementing rules and
regulations of the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) Law.
Said forum was aimed to inform and educate the
stakeholders in the provincial level about the RPRH Law – for this is, still,
enabling women and couples in the community to exercise their reproductive
rights; giving them an informed choice on what family planning method to use,
either natural or artificial; and achieve the couple’s fertility intentions in
accordance with their socio-economic, emotional and psychological capacity.
Resource persons coming from the Commission on
Population (PopCom) - Caraga, the Department of Health - Caraga, and the
Department of Education - Dinagat Islands Division emphasized that the RPRH Act
of 2012 shall be fully implemented to address the prevailing population and
reproductive health issues and shall become the focal point for convergence of
multi-sectoral efforts toward the improvement of health outcomes.
Vice governor Benglen B. Ecleo and the provincial
administrator Millard Tawakal also graced the event to show full support in the
implementation of the said law to their locality for the benefit of their
constituents. (PopCom-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
