BFP set to inaugurate, turn-over new fire station in SurSur

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, May 3 (PIA) – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Caraga region under Regional Director F/SSupt. Erlinda Tobias is set to spearhead the inauguration and turn-over of the newly set up Fire Station in Marihatag town, this province, on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

FO1 Ma. Lourdes Jao, BFP provincial staff here, said the special occasion would be split into three parts:  blessing of the fire station and ribbon-cutting; program proper; and luncheon.

She also told media that leading the list to cut the ribbon would be Gov. Johnny Pimentel, Vice-Gov. Manuel Alameda, Sr., Mayor Alan Pelenio, and F/SSupt. Tobias, adding that also among them included Provincial Fire Marshall F/Insp. Rowella Dinolan and other local town officials and employees.

Afterwards, the program proper would follow with messages to be delivered by high-ranking officials of the said town, this province, and the BFP, respectively, doing the honors, Jao stressed.

Likewise, parts of the program would be a testimony, turn-over of key of responsibility, and distribution of certificates, it was learned.

The event would culminate in a luncheon, FO1 Jao added.

Tagalog News: Prayer rally para sa mapayapang halalan, isinagawa sa Butuan City

BUTUAN CITY, Mayo 3 (PIA) – Kasabay sa selebrasyon ng Labor Day o Araw ng Manggagawa at bilang paghahanda sa gaganaping eleksyon ngayong Mayo 9, isinagawa ang isang motorcade at prayer rally na pinangunahan ng People Power Volunteers for Reform (PPVR) Caraga na nakabase dito sa lungsod, kasama ang iba pang non-government organizations, civil society organizations, transport sctor, academe at media para sa layuning maging maayos at mapayapa ang eleksyon.

Sa naging panayam kay Concepcion “Chit” Asis, regional chairperson ng PPVR, sinabi niya na layunin ng isinagawa nilang prayer rally ay ipamulat sa mga mamamayan na kailangang magkaisa para makamit ang malinis at mapayapang halalan dito sa lungsod ng Butuan.

Dagdag pa ni Asis, ang kanilang organisasyon ay binubuo rin ng mga magsasaka, ordinaryong manggagawa, mga kabataan at kababaihan na may isang layuning maiwasan ang anumang pandaraya at masiguro ang isang malinis, tapat at mapayapang eleksyon.

“Nais lamang ng PPVR na magkaisa ang mga tao at tayo ay maging mapagmasid, mapagbantay lalung-lalo na ngayong darating na halalan sa May 9. Wala na sanang dayaan katulad ng ating napagdaanan sa nakaraang eleksyon,” pahayag ni Asis.

Sa ginawang motorcade at prayer rally, napag-alamang nasa daan-daang partisipante ang nakiisa sa nagging kampanya ng PPVR.

Pinahayag naman ni Libertad Oropa-Dalen, isa sa mga partisipante at miyembro ng LGBT o Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender group ng lungsod na ninanais din ng kanilang grupo na maging aktibo sa pangkalahatang aktibidad at isa anya ang prayer rally sa mga ito para manawagan sa lahat ng botante at makamit ang isang malinis, maayos at mapayapang halalan sa Mayo 9.

“Buo ang grupo namin sa LGBT at handa kami na sumuporta sa ganitong mga aktibidades na makakatulong upang makamit natin ang malinis, maayos at responsableng eleksyon sa May 9, 2016,” diin di Dalen.

Samantala, sa ginanap na prayer rally sa Saint Joseph Institute of Technology (SJIT) annex gymnasium, nagbigay din ng mga mensahe ang ibat-ibang sector kabilang na ang mga senior citizens, youth, women, religious, transport, LGBT, at magsasaka.

Natapos naman ang prayer rally sa pamamagitan ng isang community singing at light candle ceremony. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
