PRC AgNor-Butuan City Chapter to hold several activities
before year ends

BUTUAN CITY, Oct. 21 (PIA) – The Philippine Red
Cross (PRC) Agusan del Norte-Butuan City Chapter will be holding several
activities before the year ends.
In a recently held meeting, the chapter’s Board of
Directors and representatives from government agencies and private sector
discussed the activities to be conducted starting this month of October.
Fiscal Felixberto Guiritan (retired), PRC Agusan
del Norte-Butuan City Chapter chairman announced that on October 29, 2016, the
chapter will be holding the Bingo for A Cause at Balanghai Hotel, this city.
The Bingo tickets were already dispatched to different partner stakeholders but
others can still purchase at the Bingo area on the said date.
Guiritan further cited that the second wave of the
Chapter Volunteer Run is set on November 19, 2016. “We have three categories
for this run – 10 kilometer, 5 kilometer, and 3 kilometer. Registration fee for
the 10k is P500.00; 5k – P300.00; and 3k – P200.00. Registrants will receive
singlet, baller ID, and certificate of participation,” he said.
Finisher’s Medal will also be given to 10k
winner/champion. “This is a fund-raising activity that will surely help the
chapter on its humanitarian operations,” he added.
Also, chapter administrator Teodoro Cairo mentioned
that the local chapter has coordinated with the city government of Cabadbaran,
where they plan to hold another a separate Chapter Volunteer Run. “This is our
first time to bring the Chapter Volunteer Run outside Butuan City,” he
stressed.
Meanwhile, Cairo also revealed that the conduct of
a raffle draw in the month of December would be the last activity of the local

Go Negosyo Center opens in Dapa

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Oct. 21 (PIA) –
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Surigao del Norte formally launched
its third Negosyo Center in the municipality of Dapa last Oct. 2, 2016.
According to DTI Provincial Director Celestino L.
Negapatan, the newly-inaugurated Negosyo Center is the first of the two centers
targeted by their office for launching this year.
He said the Negosyo Centers are established in all
provinces, cities, and municipalities to promote ease of doing business and
facilitate access to services for micro, small and medium enterprises in
accordance to Republic Act. No. 10644, also known as the “Go Negosyo Act.”
“The Department of Trade and Industry shall be the
lead implementing agency for the establishment, management, and personnel
assignments of Negosyo Center as mandated by law,“ said Negapatan.
Negapatan further said that every Negosyo Center
established will facilitate and expedite the business application process of
micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in coordination with the local
government units and other concerned agencies and will provide assistance to
MSMEs in the availment of technology transfer, production and management
training programs and marketing assistance of the DTI and other concerned

DTI Surigao Norte holds bookkeeping, accounting
seminar to Surigao Norte coop
SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Oct. 21 (PIA) –
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Surigao del Norte provincial office
conducted a Simplified Bookkeeping and Accounting for Non-Accountants to Lower
Patag Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Initiated Community Association (LOPARBICA)
on Oct. 11, 2016 held in Barangay Lower Patag, Sison, this province.
The activity aims to bring awareness to the micro,
small and medium enterprises with the basic knowledge on accounting and
bookkeeping as these are important tools in managing their business since the
association is still new in the field of business.
A total of 22 participants consist of officers,
board of directors and some members of the association attended the said
activity.
LOPARBICA is registered in the Department of Labor
and Employment (DOLE) on October 2014.
It is also assisted by the DTI under the Bottoms up Budgeting Project.
The BuB project consists of Payaw Processing
equipment worth P142,500. Payaw (palaw) is a native root crop similar to gabi
or taro abundantly produced in the said locality.
To date the association produces payaw tart and

DAR AgSur launches Amoma Care virgin coconut oil

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur, Oct. 21 (PIA) - The
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) here has recently facilitated the media
launching of KAAGAPMUCO’s Amoma Care Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) held at Gaisano
Grand Mall, San Francisco, this province.
KAAGAP Multi Purpose Cooperative was a recipient of
2015 Village Level Processing Center Enhancement Program (VLPCEP) and 2016
recipient of Up-Valuing of Agrarian Reform Beneficiary (ARB) products. Thus,
the DAR was able to assist them for the processing and approval of their
License to Operate from the Food and Drugs Administration for their Virgin
Coconut Oil product---the first to be awarded in Caraga Region.
The launching was designed to build a competitive
market relationship and expose the product and convey the interest of varied
consumers, boost the economic ability of the cooperative and its members by
providing wider business opportunities through integrated social media
strategy.
KAAGAPMUCO General Manager Maximino Robles thanked
the DAR for the assistance. “Dako among pasalamat sa mga ahensya nga nagtabang
aron molambo ang among kooperatiba ilabi na sa DAR sa pagtabang aron maangkon
namo ang among LTO ug sa pagpanguna alang sa launching niining among produkto.

The launching cum ribbon cutting ceremony was

SP Member Edilberto Bastareche, representatives from other agencies like the
Department of Trade and Industry, Phil. Coconut Authority, Department of
Science and Technology, and Department of Agriculture.
“Congratulations to KAAGAPMUCO for the success of
your endeavor. It is our mandate in the department to assist our ARBs to become
entrepreneurs. I know that it's a long and tedious process but because of the
unity, cooperation and partnership that we have we are able to launch the
product today,” Ragandang said in her message.
Virgin Coconut Oil is known for its various health

KAAGAPMUCO took pride in becoming globally competitive being an importer,
