TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, Apr. 6 (PIA) – An
official of the 36th Infantry (Valor) Battalion (36IB) has expressed his full
support on "Project Double Barrel Reloaded" implemented by the
Philippine National Police (PNP).
During the City Peace and Order Council meeting
held on Tuesday here, 36IB commanding officer Lt. Colonel Randolph Rojas said
they are supporting the local government unit as well as the local police to
run after the drug syndicates, "for they are destroying the future of the
individuals specially the youth in our society.”
Accordingly, President Rodrigo Duterte has
instructed the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to support the PNP on the
fight against illegal drugs.
Just recently, a random drug testing was conducted
to the 36IB troopers by the PNP-Scene of the Crime Operatives team in response
to the call of the commander-in-chief. The results of the drug test showed
negative on the presence of THC – metabolites and methamphetamine – both
dangerous drugs, indicating that the 36IB troopers are drug free and dedicated
in their commitment to serve and protect the people of Surigao del Sur.
According to Rojas, since the start of the
implementation of the “Oplan TokHang," he has been providing augmentation
and tactical support to the anti-drug operations conducted by the police within
their area of responsibility. (PIA-Surigao del Sur)
