Surigao City population office to conduct summer
youth camp

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Apr. 19 (PIA) –
The Surigao City Population Office through the Surigao Youth Center, in
partnership with Surigao Youth Convergence, will conduct a three-day Annual
Summer Youth Camp set on April 26-28, 2017 to be held at Sea Farers Resort,
Barangay Lipata, this city.
According to city population officer Jupiter J.
Correos, the camp will be filled with learning discussions on Adolescent Health
and its related issues including poverty, education, youth participation,
environment, and human rights.
"The camp will also be an avenue for
camaraderie, networking and learning among the young people in Suriga,” Correos
said.
Correos further said that the activity is free of
charge including accommodation as well as the certificates and meals.
A number of youth from different sectors, ages
between 15 to 24 years old are expected to participate the three-day event.

Agrarian beneficiaries undergo training on policy
formulation

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, Apr. 19 (PIA) - Some
30 agrarian beneficiaries who are members of Kinabigtasan Farmers Marketing
Cooperative have undergone training on policy formulation and preparation
design for cooperatives held recently at
Brgy. Kinabigtasan, Tago of this province.
According to Myra Yu, Surigao del Sur Provincial
Agrarian Reform Office information officer, that the output of the workshop or
the policies formulated by the participants will serve as guide in their future
undertakings.
Yu added that the policy formulation has covered
the existing business operations on catering services, solar dryer rental
services, consumer store and rice buy and sell enterprise.
Cooperative chairperson Herlito Borja also
expressed his gratitude to the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) for
spearheading such activity. “We are thankful to DAR for conducting this training
that serves to be very useful to every participant,” he said.
“If we were only trained right from the start of
the existence of our cooperative with respect to policy preparation, I’m sure
we should not have experienced difficulties in handling our business as
before,” Borja added.
The training was spearheaded by the Department of
Agrarian Reform - Surigao del Sur Provincial Office as part of their support
services program particularly on capability building of farmer cooperatives.

LUNGSOD NG BUTUAN, Abril 19 (PIA) - Dahil sa mainit
na pagtanggap ng ibat-ibang sektor sa imbitasyon ng Philippine Information
Agency (PIA) Caraga, naging matagumpay ang ginanap na forum sa Association of
Southeast Asian Nations o ASEAN dito sa lungsod ng Butuan kamakailan.
Ayon kay deputy director general Gregorio Angelo
Villar ng PIA, ang nasabing ASEAN forum ay isa lamang sa napakaraming paraan ng
ahensya upang mapalaganap sa publiko ang mahahalagang impormasyon patungkol sa
mga benepisyo at oportunidad na makukuha ng mga Pilipino sa gaganaping ASEAN
summit kung saan ang Pilipinas ang syang host sa taong ito.
Dagdag pa ni DDG Villar, malaki ang maitutulong ng
ibat-ibang sektor sa pagbibigay impormasyon tungkol sa ASEAN lalung-lalo na
doon sa liblib na barangay na kinabibilangan nila upang sa ganun ay aktibong
makilahok ang marginalized na sektor ng lipunan sa mga benepisyong maibibigay
ng ASEAN community.

Caga ng PIA Caraga sa mga partisipante sa kanilang aktibong partisipasyon at
kooperasyon sa nasabing pagpupulong. Naipahayag
umano ng ibat-ibang sektor ang kanilang mga tanong, opinyon, at
klaripikasyon patungkol sa ASEAN, maging
ang kani-kanilang mungkahi kung papaano pa mapapalago ang kabuhayan ng mga
Pilipino sa ASEAN community.
Mas naintindihan rin umano ng mga Caraganons ang
ASEAN at kabutihang maidudulot nito sa bansa, lalung-lalo na sa rehiyon.
Samantala, inilunsad din ng PIA Caraga sa
pakikipagtulungan ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Butuan
ang ASEAN Information Kiosk sa arrival area ng Butuan airport, kung saan may
free access ang mga biyaherong papasok at palabas sa nasabing lungsod sa
ibat-ibang information, education and communication o IEC materials ng mga
serbisyo at programa galing sa mga ahensya ng gobyerno.
Isa rin umano itong paraan upang mas lalo pang
maipalaganap ang mga magagandang oportunidad na maaaring pakinabangan ng mga
