NEDA-Caraga holds regional forum on economic, financial literacy

BUTUAN CITY, Nov. 7 – The Caraga Regional Office of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) will hold a Regional Forum on Economic and Financial Literacy on November 10, 2017, 8:30 a.m. at the NEDA-Caraga Building, here.

Around 70 senior high school and college students from various higher education institutions (HEIs), including workers from the informal sector, are expected to participate in the said forum, where economic and finance experts from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and NEDA-Caraga will discuss basic economic concepts and tips on creating and managing wealth.

Forum participants and other netizens will also be encouraged to share the Economic and Financial Literacy Week (EFLW) communication materials and news features on NEDA-Caraga’s social media accounts, using the official hashtags: #KitaMoNa #EFLW2017 and #AmBisyonNatin2040.

The regional forum and online campaign are in line with the annual celebration of the EFLW, which is set every second week of November. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10922, “An Act Declaring the Second Week of November of Every Year as Economic and Financial Literacy Week,” NEDA leads the celebration of the EFLW.

This year’s EFLW theme is, “O Kita Mo Na: ‘Pag May Alam sa Ekonomiya at Pinansya, Malaki ang Ganansya’.”

The celebration aims to improve the public’s understanding, particularly youth and workers in the informal sector (WIS), of economic and financial concepts to help them earn sustainably; and to provide insights and tools that will enable the WIS to make informed and sound financial decisions to help them grow in their fields. AgSur KMME Batch 2 mentees complete 10 modules on entrep, biz law

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur, Nov. 7 – The Agusan del Sur (AdS) Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) Program Batch 2 mentees have completed the prescribed ten modules, with the last one on Business Law and Obligation and Contracts.

Atty. Kahlil Lamigo, a KMME and Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE)-accredited local mentor, facilitated the session. He shared with the 24 mentees the importance of the sources of obligations, forms and contracts and their corresponding requisites.

"Among the inputs we learned, the most important to me was when it was emphasized that a contract should be considered and studied well. Also, knowing that once a contract gets notarized, it will become a public document was a significant reminder,” shared Rolando Montera, owner of Vine's Restaurant and Catering Services of Bayugan City.

Further reflecting on what they have learned, Montera noted that in a business, the employer should always consider preparing a contract for his/her employees, specifying clear terms and conditions.

BUTUAN CITY, Nob. 7 - Ang Commission on Population (POPCOM)-Caraga nakig-alayon sa lokal nga panggamhanan sa mga syudad ug probinsiya sa Caraga Region alang sa pagpahigayon sa usa ka open basketball league ubos sa programa sa KATROPA (Kalalakihang Tumutugon sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon para sa Pamilya) on Hardcourt. Ang katuyoan niini mao nga mapakaylap ang programa ngadto sa mga kalalakihan aron sila maaghat sa pagsalmot sa hisgutanang pagka-responsableng ginikanan ug pagplano sa pamilya.

Ang KATROPA on Hardcourt usa ka adbokasiya sa POPCOM alang sa duha ka programa nga gilangkuban sa Responsible Parenthood-Family Planning (RP-FP) ug Adolescent Health Development (AHD) isip kabahin sa Philippine Population Management Program (PPMP). Ang maong estratehiya dili lamang sa ming-apil nga tim/koponan hinunoa ngadto usab sa kadaghanan/publiko nga nitambong pinaagi sa lakbit nga oryentasyon, salida, ug pag-apod-apod og mga balasahon.

Ang POPCOM pinaagi sa iyang programa sa mga batan-on naglaum sa pagpalambo sa ilang positibong kinaiya, pagbaton og himsog nga istelo sa pagkinabuhi (healthy lifestyle), ug mahimong responsable sa ilang sekswalidad. Kini nagtinguha usab nga ang mga batan-on mamahimong kampeyon nga tigpama-ba sa adbokasiya nga dunay kalabutan sa ilang mga katungdanan ug responsibilidad nga mamahimong maayong amahan ug bana, anak ug modelo sa katilingban.
