101 ARBs in Tagbina town receive land titles from DAR

By Nida Grace P. Barcena

TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur, May 24 (PIA) -- Some 101 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the municipality of Tagbina received land titles or Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Surigao del Sur provincial office recently.

According to Myra Yu, DAR-Surigao Sur Information Officer, the land titles that were awarded during the distribution are classified as government owned lands (GOL) covered under the agrarian reform program of the said agency comprising 176 hectares in barangay San Vicente and Ugoban, all in Tagbina town, part of its 2017 accomplishment on land acquisition and distribution.

For this year, Yu revealed that their office has targeted 488 hectares that will be distributed to 300 qualified ARBs in the province.

Meanwhile, acting Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Victor Canda stressed that the CLOA is a proof of the ownership of each beneficiary on the land they till for a long period of time.

He also encouraged those who received the CLOA to maximize the land awarded to them for their farm production activities. (PIA-Surigao del Sur)
