DA Rice Program allots ₱161M intervention to Caraga farmers

BUTUAN CITY, Feb. 24 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA)-Caraga Rice Program allocated P161 Million of agriculture interventions to rice farmers for the calendar year 2021.

DA-Caraga OIC-Regional Technical Director for Operations Rebecca R. Atega said that the bulk of intervention for this year is dedicated to the non-Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) provinces - Surigao del Norte and Province of Dinagat Islands.

“Our support continues with the three provinces - Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, and Surigao del Sur through the DA attached agencies and bureaus and other implementing agencies under the RCEF Program. Rest assured that more interventions are coming for the rice sector in the region,” RTD Atega said.

This year, portions of the budget go to the following interventions: Production Support Services (PSS) – ₱81 million, Extension Support, Education, Training Services (ESETS) – ₱27 million, Research & Development – ₱9 million, and Agri Infrastructure & Farm Mechanization P43 million.

Aside from the regular Rice Program, DA-Caraga is also currently implementing the Rice Resiliency Project 2 (RRP 2) with a total budget allocation of P229 Million for seeds, fertilizers, and logistics support for the current cropping season (Sept 2020-Mar 2021).

All programs and projects for the rice sector are being lined up to improve and increase farmers’ income in accordance with directives of the Secretary of Agriculture following the guidelines under the Plant, Plant, Plant Program.

Moreover, part of the strategies to accelerate the implementation of the projects for the rice sector is the continuous partnership with the Local Government Units (LGUs).

Through Republic Act 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991, the decentralization limited the DA to have operational control over the LGU personnel working directly with the farmers. As a national government agency, DA’s influence in LGU’s decisions is mainly executed through the budgetary process since the budget for agricultural development projects remains under the control of the Department.

RTD Atega encouraged the LGUs to continuously link the local farmers to various programs of the agency. “We recognize that the Municipal and City Agriculture Offices are the effective launching pads of DA’s program and services.  We want to engage everyone to be partakers to attain a modest agriculture sector growth in the region,” she said during the technical briefing conducted for the Municipal Agriculturist and Rice Coordinators in the Province of Agusan del Norte and Butuan City on January 26.

Series of technical briefings for the rest of the Caraga provinces are scheduled this week to discuss the processes in availing the interventions to guide the LGUs for proper and smooth implementation. (DA-13-RAFIS/PIA Caraga)

P1M madawat kada LGU sa AgNor isip suporta sa vaccination program

DAKBAYAN SA BUTUAN, Pebrero 24 -- Hugot ang suporta karon sa lokal nga panggamhanan sa Agusan del Norte alang sa 11 ka mga Local Government Units (LGU) pinaagi sa paghatag og financial counterpart sa kantidad nga usa ka milyon (P1M) kada LGU alang sa implementasyon sa province-wide Vaccination program alang sa mga katawhan.

Kini gi-aprobahan sa Sangguniang Panlalawigan pinaagi sa Sanggunian Resolution No. 088-2021, tubag sa hangyo ni Governor Dale B. Corvera pinaagi sa sulat pinitsahan Pebrero 10, 2021 nga hatagaan og otoridad alang sa pagpirma sa Memorandum of Agreement o MOA sa ngalan sa probinsya aron sa pagbalhin sa P1,000,000.00 sa  tagsa-tagsa ka LGU sa probinsiya isip suporta sa mga programa, proyekto ug aktibidad (PPA) ubos sa Vaccination Program.

Atol sa virtual meeting sa Committee on Finance and Appropriation diin tsirman si Vice Governor Ramon AG. Bungabong, gisuportahan ang maong lakang base sa pahayag sa Acting Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator nga ingon nga paggahin sa pondo sa kantidad nga One Million Pesos (P1,000,000.00) ) isip katugbang sa mga LGUs sa lalawigan aron suportahan ang PPAs alang sa malampuson ug epektibo nga pagpatuman sa programa sa pagbakuna sa tibuuk nga Lalawigan diin ang nahisgutan nga mga PPA nahiuyon sa Supplemental Annual Investment Program sa Lalawigan alang sa CY 2021.

 Kini gumikan sa mando sa Republic Act 11494 o “Bayanihan to Recover as One Act,” na aprobado ni President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, diin naghatag sa COVID-19 response and recovery intervention Program in coordination sa mga respective Department of Health (DOH) Centers for Health Development ug Provincial/City Municipal Health Offices.

Pagpahiluna sa paspas nga pagpatuman sa VCO Production Upgrading sa Libas gisugdan na

DAKBAYAN SA BUTUAN, Pebrero 24 -- Gisugdan na ang sunod-sunod nga mga konsultasyon og workshops sa Technical Working Group (TWG) nga gitahasan pagpahiluna sa proyekto nga mag-upgrade sa Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) Production sa Libas Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LFMPC) sa Libas, Agusan del Norte.

Nauyonan nila Gob. Dale B. Corvera, Kong. Angel Amante-Matba, Mayor Napoleon Montero ug mga ahensya sa pagpanguna sa Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) nga nag-converge aron hiniusang suportahan ang pagpakusog sa produksyon sa VCO sa lugar nga mugnaon ang maong TWG aron mapadali ang proseso.

Sa maong unang miting, gihisgutan sa TWG ang mahimong papel sa matag usa, apil na ang draft sa Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) tali sa PCA, nga maoy mahimong tinubdan sa Php17 million gikan sa Balikatan 2 alang sa building og mga ekwipo, ug sa munisipyo nga magsilbing tulay aron mapadangat ang maon pasilidades sa LFMPC.

Ang proyekto nagpunting pagpaangat sa produksyon sa VCO sa LFMPC gikan sa 200 nuts lang matag semana karon ngadto sa 10,000 nuts matag adlaw.

Nagkauyon ang tanan sa mahimong papel sa matag usa, apil ang pagtinabangay paggama sa business plan nga mahimong basehan sa mas detalyado pang papel sa matag ahensya.
Gilantaw nga mahuman ang konstruksyon sa building, mapahiluna ang mga ekwipo ug masugdan na ang operisyon sa Agosto, ning tuiga.

Ang pagpakusog sa  produksyon sa VCO sa Jabonga ug pagpahiluna og uban pang mga processing activities sa lugar gamit ang lubi nga maghimo sa Jabonga nga “Coconut Processing Center” sa probinysa, usa sa mga core processing projects nga buot ipahiluna ni Gob. Corvera sa lugar ubos sa Process! Process! Process! Project sa AGUSAN UP!, ang kampanya sa pagpalambo sa iyang administrasyon kaabag ang buhatan ni Kong. Amante.

Mga baktin giapod-apod sa mga swine raisers

DAKBAYAN SA BUTUAN, Pebrero 24 -- Giapod-apod sa probinsyal nga panggamhanan sa Agusan del Norte ang 57 ka baktin sa tulo ka mga asosasyon sa hog raisers aron pasanayon ug maapod-apod usab sa laing gatusan ka indibidwal.

Kabahin ang maong kalihukan sa Swine Stock Infusion Program sa Provincial Veterinarian’s Office (PVO) ubos sa Food Security Enhancement Program sa AGUSAN UP!, ang kampanya sa pagpapambo sa administrasyon ni Gob. Dale B. Corvera kaabag ang buhatan ni Kong. Angel Amante-Matba.

Ang tulo ka organisasyon nga nakadawat og average 19 ka baktin matag usa nagagikan sa Tubay, Cabadbaran ug Buenavista ug mga sakop sa Hog Raisers Federation of Agusan del Norte (HogRAFAN), sumala pa ni Dr. Belen Aurelo, ang provincial veterinarian.

Dugang ni Aurelo nga ang nag-unang tumong saa maong kalihukan mao nga masuportahan ug matabangan ang industriya sa baboy ilabi na karon nga nag-atubang sa hulga sa African Swine Fever (ASF) ang nasud nga nagresulta sa kanihit sa produksyon sa karneng baboy ug pagsaka sa presyo niini.

Ang laing tumong mao nga makaasdang ang programa sa PVO sa pagpadaghan sa produksyon sa baboy pinaagi sa artificial swine insemination, lakip na ang pagpagahum ug pagpalambo sa kapasidad sa mga swine raisers alang sa dugang kita sa mga benepisyaryo. Pagsasaka ng mga taga Agusan mas pinadali sa pamamagitan ng rice mechanization equipment

LUNGSOD NG BUTUAN, Pebrero 24 (PIA) -- Umabot sa P42.38 Milyong halaga ng rice mechnization equipment ang kabuoang natanggap ng mga magsasaka sa probinsya ng Agusan del Norte na nakatulong upang mapadali ang kanilang pagsasaka.

Aminado si Nicolas Licuna, ang presidente ng Sayadion-Cuyago Irrigators Association Incorporated ng Jabonga, Agusan del Norte na malaki ang tulong ng Rice Tarrification Law sa kanilang mga magsasaka.

Malaki ang pasalamat ni Licuna sa gobyerno dahil sa pamamagitan ng rice mechanization equipment,bababa ang kanilang gastos sa pagsasaka at tataas pa ang kanilang kita.

Labing limang (15) kooperatiba ng mga magsasaka sa Agusan del Norte at Butuan City ang nakatanggap ng intervention mula sa Department of Agriculture – Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization o PhilMech.

Kabilang sa mga natanggap na makinaryas ang four-wheel tractors, hand tractors, floating tillers, combine harvesters, behaind transplanters,  riding-type transplanters, at precision seeder.

Maliban sa pinadali at mas mataas na ani sa mas mababang gasto, kikita din ang mga kooperatiba dahil sa renta ng mga makinaryas na kanilang natanggap, ayon kay DA Caraga Regional Director Abel James Montegudo, ang rice tariff revenues ay malaking tulong upang maiangat ang kalagayan ng mga magsasaka sa bansa.
