Gov’t personnel warned anew on corruption

With more than a year before leaving office, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte made renewed warning to public officials asking them to obey the law and to stay away from corruption if they want to remain in their posts.

“Ngayon, kayong mga ano, you know, madali na lang ako. But ‘pag nagkamali kayo maski kaunti ngayon, iwasan ninyo magkamali,” said President Duterte during his weekly public address on government response on COVID-19.

“If you value your work, if you want to stay in government, iwasan ninyo,” he warned.

Also, during his address, President Duterte disclosed the names of government personnel who were either removed from service or were suspended.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) personnel implicated for committing prohibited acts were Ramiro M. Cruz, District Engineer, Bulacan 2nd District Engineering Office; Armando R. Juan, Project Engineer; and Alfredo Hernandez, Chief Construction Section, Bulacan District Engineer’s Office.

They were charged with serious dishonesty, grave misconduct, gross neglect of duty, poor performance of functions, and other offenses.

Noel Reyes, Administrative Officer III from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is also facing serious dishonesty, grave misconduct, gross neglect of duty, falsification of public documents, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the government for falsifying official receipt resulting in unreported amount of P1.69 million intended for the DTI.   PND
