SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, June 23 – The Department of
Trade and Industry (DTI) - Surigao del Norte through the Livelihood Seeding
Program-Negosyo Serbisyo Sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) has recently distributed
Sari-Sari Store livelihood kits in San Francisco (Anao-aon) town, this
province.
DTI Surigao del Norte Provincial Director Arnold Faelnar said
the LSP-NSB is a program of the DTI that allows a wider reach of business
development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people
through partnerships between relevant local government units and the agency.
He said it is designed to provide livelihood opportunities and
support the existing micro-enterprises affected by natural and human-induced
calamities including health disasters arising from epidemics and pandemics.
Director Faelnar further said that it provides aid to the micro,
small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in order to cope and bounce back from the
negative effects of the pandemic on the economy and the program also aims to
develop awareness about the agency’s programs and services and expand reach to
the business sector.
A total of five existing MSMEs from Barangay Macopa are the beneficiaries of the kits being distributed by the Negosyo Center - San Francisco. (DTI-Surigao del Norte/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
