DAR, LGU ink MOA for LinkSFarMM project in AgSur town

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur, June 22 – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Agusan del Sur, together with the local government unit (LGU) of Prosperidad, and Ago Magsaysay Agrarian Reform Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AMARBEMCO) - a recipient Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) Organization of LinkSFarMM project, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for rubber production on June 16, 2021, at the Conference Hall, Prosperidad, this province.

Linking Smallholder Farmers to Market with Microfinance (LinkSFarMM) project is a partnership project that links Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries to better market connections, integrates the supply chain and utilizes the eight steps in agro-enterprise clustering approach to increase the production and income of ARBs and their household through agricultural extension, marketing assistance, and capacity building. Also, it will help in transforming the farmers into entrepreneurs by developing their products.


In his message, Prosperidad Municipal Mayor Frederick Mark Mellana, challenged the farmers to dream big. 


“Take advantage of the opportunity and implement the project to its full potential. We are just here to support you as you venture into another milestone,” he said.


In his response, AMARBEMCO Chairperson Bebylyn Villarta thanked DAR for helping rubber farmers like them to have a better market for their produce.

“Salamat sa DAR sa pagsalig ug tabang para kanamo nga mga mag uuma sa rubber. Amo gayud paningkamotan nga kami molambo pinaagi sa inyong mga tabang (Thanks to DAR for the trust and the help extended to us, rubber farmers. We will work hard to improve our lives through your help),” she said.


“Farmers are the true heroes especially at this time of pandemic and the department had continuously find avenues to help them in becoming self-reliant. I am hoping that the farmers in Prosperidad will emulate us by taking the government’s assistance seriously,” underscored PARPO II Jamil Amatonding, Jr. (Rechel D.
