125th Malasakit Center to open in Siargao Island

BUTUAN CITY -- Indigent Siargaonons can now have easier access to financial medical assistance from the government as a Malasakit Center will soon be operating in Siargao Island Medical Center (formerly Siargao District Hospital) in Dapa, Siargao Island in the province of Surigao del Norte.

A launch will be hosted on Saturday, July 3, 2021, spearheaded by the Office of Senator Bong Go (OSBG).

Simultaneous with the launching, the OSBG will be handing out food packs, surgical and N95 masks, face shields, vitamins, and meals for free to the locals. A raffle draw will also be conducted, with prizes such as bicycles, shoes, and even tablets awaiting the lucky winners.

The Malasakit Center is a one-stop-shop for Filipinos to access financial medical assistance from agencies such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Health Insurance, Inc. (PhilHealth), and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). This is the country’s 125th Malasakit Center.  (DMNR/PIA-Caraga)
