Coffee processing center soon to rise in Agusan Norte town
BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Agriculture - Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Regional Project Coordinating Office (RPCO) - Caraga conducted a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a Coffee Processing Center of the Casiklan Wheel's Farmers Association Incorporated (CAWFAI) with a total amount of P19,022,445.77 in Barangay Casiklan, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte.
He also urged the members of CAWFAI to also focus on value-adding of their coffee to further the growth of their organization.
DA-Caraga Regional Executive Director Abel James I. Monteagudo posed a challenge to the members of CAWFAI to make their enterprise grow. “The government is here to assist you but you should also help yourselves to achieve your goals, from production to marketing of your products, ” he said.
On the other hand, Las Nieves Municipal Mayor Avelina S. Rosales said she is thankful for the project because it is a realization of the dreams of the farmers in Casiklan. She also urged the farmers to take good care of the machines and make good use of it for the benefit of their coffee enterprise. (DA Caraga/PIA Agusan del Norte)
