DENR, farmer's group ink MOA for GAD livelihood project in Surigao Norte
SURIGAO CITY, Suirgao del Norte – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Provincial Environment and Natural Resources office (DENR-PENRO) Surigao del Norte recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Mainit-Malimono Tree Farmers Association (MAMATFA) for the Gender and Development (GAD) livelihood project.
The MAMATFA recently became a beneficiary of the eco-tourism project under GAD livelihood that will be implemented at the top ridge of their Community-Based Forest Management area located at the municipalities of Mainit and Malimono in Surigao del Norte.The said project on eco-tourism is planned to put forward series of activities such as camping and other outdoor activities within MAMATFA area providing alternative livelihood ventures to its members particularly all the women.
DENR PENRO Officer-in-Charge Alejandra B. Boiser together with CENRO Tubod Officer Ruel E. Efren and MAMATFA Chairperson Rev. Matrinilo J, Lucida, and PO Secretary Jireh R. Labadan led the signing of the said MOA. (DENR-PENRO Surigao del Norte/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
