Cabadbaran City to receive grant from POPCOM

BUTUAN CITY -- The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) will soon transfer the financial support to the local government unit (LGU) of Cabadbaran City in strengthening the Philippine Population Development Program (PPDP) through localization strategy as governed by a Memorandum of Agreement.

The hand-holding with the PPDP localization strategy to LGUs aimed at building the capacities of LGUs to take the lead in the implementation of the population management strategies. It also highlighted the importance of the presentation of the Financial Guidelines, which is the anchor of the downloading of funds for implementation.

POPCOM Caraga resource speakers presented the various major thrusts and directions of every population program. The regional office lauded Cabadbaran City for the efforts and accomplishments they have made in the implementation of various population programs in their communities.

As for Director Alexander A. Makinano, the activity with Cabadbaran City is a step towards opening up opportunities for higher levels of partnership, program ownership, and localization of population management strategies to its local partners. (Charina May L.
