KBP members, Bislig media group join 'Oplan Broacastreeing'

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The members of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster
ng Pilipinas (KBP), and United Media Circle of Bislig City (UMCBC) led the
annual tree-planting activity, in partnership with the local government unit
(LGU) of Bislig through the City Information Office (CIO), and Department of
Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Community Environment and Natural
Resources Office (CENRO) held on October 2, 2021, in Bislig City.
Dubbed as,
"KBP Oplan Broadcastreeing," some 100 seedlings of Bita and
Bagras tree species were planted in Sian and Tinuy-an Falls areas.
The said
activity aimed to curb climate change and biodiversity loss through the direct
participation of the community in this activity.
Mayor
Florencio C. Garay has expressed his support in this endeavor by allocating
funds for this yearly program. Souvenir t-shirts and meals were provided by the
LGU.
Also joined in the activity included City Information Officer Napoleon Velez, Tourism Consultant Reynaldo Dominguez, local media partners, representatives from Kilusang Pagbabago (KP) Associations, Bantay Gubat, and other volunteer groups. (CIO-Bislig/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
