PDI town hails as most improved in Competitiveness Index
SAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands –- The town of Libjo was hailed as the most improved local government unit (LGU) in the 5th to 6th category in the entire province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) in the recently concluded Competitiveness Index.
From 506 places, the town of Libjo was ranked 161 this year an improvement from 667th places in 2019.The
ranking of Cities and Municipalities are based on the sum of their scores on
four pillars such as; Economic, Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure
and Resiliency.
On the
other hand, the provincial rankings are based on population and income
generated average of the overall scores of cities and municipalities under a
province.
The Cities
and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) is an annual ranking of Philippine
cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council
through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of
the United States Agency for International Development.
Meanwhile, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) provided technical assistance to the local government unit. (DILG-Libjo/PIA-Dinagat Islands)
