COVID variant cases in Caraga now at 564
BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Health (DOH) Caraga on Tuesday recorded a total of 564 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) variants in Caraga Region.
Per its biosurveillance report, cases of the Delta variant make up the majority of the recorded cases, with a total of 202 recorded, followed by the Omicron variant, with 117 cases; Beta variant with 103 cases; Alpha variant with 49 cases; and the P.3 variant with 33 cases.
Meanwhile, 14 new cases of the COVID variants have been recorded. Ten cases of the Beta variant were detected in the cities of Bislig (4), Butuan (1), Surigao (1), and municipalities of Nasipit (1) and Jabonga (1) in Agusan del Norte; Claver (1) in Surigao del Norte; and San Agustin (1) in Surigao del Sur. One case of the P.3 variant was each detected in Bayugan City, Butuan City, and San Miguel town in Surigao del Sur, while one Alpha case was recorded in Butuan City.
None of the cases are active, 529 have recovered while 35 have died. (DMNR/PIA-Caraga)
