Bislig FS receive new fire truck from BFP
BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Bislig City Fire Station received a new 1000-gallon capacity fire truck under the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Modernization Program.
The local government unit of Bislig, through Executive Assistant Paul Vicencio and Bislig City personnel headed by Acting City Fire Marshal Insp. Dindo Burnea, received the new fire equipment from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in a turnover ceremony on March 7, 2022, held at the BFP-Caraga Regional Office in Barangay Rizal, Surigao City. The event was attended by local chief executives/representatives and dignitaries who were also recipients of the new fire trucks.
Presently, the city of Bislig already has five operational fire trucks.
The BFP Modernization Program is implemented under the Republic Act 11589 or the BFP Modernization Act, which mandates the BFP to develop and implement the fire protection modernization program which will expand their functions and provide the Bureau resources to improve their facilities and equipment, one of which is through the acquisition of new fire trucks.
