Free surgery for children with cleft lip, palate set in SurSur town
TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur, in partnership with the Doctors of Smile Train - Philippines, is set to conduct a free repair surgery for children born with cleft lip and palate in Surigao del Sur.
Provincial Health Office (PHO) chief Dr. Eric Montesclaros said that the surgery is free to all residents of the province. This will be conducted at the Hinatuan District Hospital in the first week of April.
Montesclaros said the surgery will be conducted on April 5-6, 2022. Prior to the scheduled surgery operation, patients will undergo a screening that would be conducted at the community or district hospitals of the province through the assistance of their respective local government offices and municipal health offices on April 2-4, 2022.
Individuals who would like to avail of the services are advised to visit the nearest barangay health station or the municipal health office for the assistance of the requirements needed.
Meanwhile, the local government unit of Hinatuan through social media announced that interested patients are instructed to present the updated PhilHealth ID/MDR, parent's valid ID, patient's birth certificate, and vaccination card during the screening and surgery.
