BG PARTYLIST 108 SUPPORTS THE CONTINUATION OF DUTERTE’s BUILD, BUILD, BUILD PROGRAM
CEBU CITY - The Bisaya Gyud Party-list 108 on Monday said that they will make sure to sustain the gains of the government’s Build, Build, Build Program beyond President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's term.
In an interview on CNN Philippines this morning, the party-list’s first nominee Alelee Aguilar-Andanar stressed that there is a need to do so because this will provide more economic opportunities for Filipinos.
“We are supporting the Build, Build, Build program of the president because we believe that it will provide more jobs. If we can provide jobs, we can provide food sa bawat tahanan,” she said.
BG Partylist is the only and first partylist endorsed by President Duterte. Their key thrust is in food, shelter, education, and security.
“We in the BG Party-list want to continue all the programs, services, and legacies of the Duterte administration. If we are elected in Congress, I will push for the passage of bills that would strengthen the programs and services started by the President,” Andanar said.
She noted that ensuring that the programs are continued “will champion the “tapang at malasakit” brand of public service through prioritizing legislation that would help uplift the lives of every Filipino, especially the Bisaya.”
She also narrated how the BG Party-list 108 started in November 2019 as an advocacy group which focused on providing aid and assistance to all Bisaya. They were also one of the first responders to victims of Typhoon Odette in Siargao islands.
They decided to run for Congress seat in order to provide more assistance to underprivileged Filipinos in Visayas and Mindanao.
“Madalas kaming bumisita sa lugar ng mister kong si Sec. Martin, sa Mindanao lalo na sa Siargao kung saan siya lumaki. Nakita ko ang pagkakaiba at agwat ng estado sa buhay ng mga Bisaya kumpara sa mga nasa Metro Manila at urbanized cities. Ito ang nagmulat sa akin na kailangan nila ng tulong,” she said.
