DTI AgNor conducts 2022 CMCI roadshow for AgNor LGUs

BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Trade and Industry-Agusan del Norte (DTI ADN) Provincial Office organized the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Roadshow for the 2022 cycle with the participation of representatives from the local government units (LGUs) of Las Nieves, Buenavista, Nasipit, Carmen, Butuan City, and the Provincial  LGU of Agusan del Norte, held in Butuan City.

The activity provides an overview of the index to the participating LGUs, emphasizing its importance as a tool to measure competitiveness. This also served as a venue to discuss the indicators and timeline of the 2022 cycle targeted to be completed by the end of the first semester of this year to acknowledge the incumbent officials responsible for such success.

The CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development.

Cities and municipalities are ranked on their competitiveness based on an overall competitiveness score which is the sum of scores on five pillars that pool data from several sub-indicators. These pillars are economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation. Scores are determined by the values of the actual data and the completeness of the submitted data. The higher the score of a city or municipality, the more competitive it is.
