DOLE releases P43M TUPAD salaries to 13K individuals in SurSur

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Labor and Employment Surigao del Sur Field Office (DOLE-SDS FO) released the salaries for the first quarter of 2022 amounting to P43,523,200.00  for the successful implementation of  the department’s TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers Program. 

Some 13,601 TUPAD beneficiaries from six (6) various municipalities and the city of Bislig received their salaries for their 10 days of work, from April 8 to May 7, 2022, in the province.

DOLE-Surigao del Sur Field Office revealed that some of the beneficiaries are coming from the municipalities of Lingig, Hinatuan, Tagbina, and Barobo from the Second District, while Marihatag, and Bayabas from the First District of this province.

The collaborative efforts and proper coordination of the DOLE personnel led by provincial chief Genebelle Bal, with the various local officials of Surigao del Sur as conduits of the program implementation, paved the way for a smooth implementation of the TUPAD program in the province.

DOLE TUPAD is a stop-gap measure which aims to alleviate the lives of the displaced, poor, and marginalized workers through the provision of emergency employment.
