2 most wanted persons for rape fall to Caraga cops
BUTUAN CITY -- The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 in its continued pursuit in hunting down wanted criminals has resulted in the arrest of two rape suspects in separate manhunt operations in Carmen, Davao del Norte, and in Barangay Luna, Surigao City on Thursday, May 19.
PRO 13 Regional Director Police Brigadier General (PBGen) Romeo M. Caramat, Jr. identified the arrested person as Crispen C. Celegria, 41 years old, a resident of Brgy. Sawagan, Veruela, Agusan del Sur, and Rolando S. Tarong, 42 years old, a resident of Brgy. Poctoy, Surigao City.Tagged as the number 1 most wanted person in the provincial level, Celegria was captured in Carmen, Davao del Norte. The joint operation of Veruela Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Carmen MPS of Davao del Norte led to his arrest.
Based on the investigation of Veruela MPS, Celegria went into hiding in Panabo City after he raped a 13-year-old girl.
The
Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 6, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del
Sur, issued the warrant of arrest for the crime of rape under Criminal
Case No. 7372, dated December 27, 2011. The court recommended no bail
bond.
On the other hand, Tarong was collared by personnel of Surigao City police around 7:29pm in Riverside, Sitio Bacud, Brgy. Luna, Surigao City. Citing the report of Surigao CPS, Tarong was accused of sexually molesting a Grade 7 female student sometime on February 28 and March 10, 2019.
The RTC, Branch 29 in Surigao City issued the warrant of arrest for the crime of two counts of rape under Criminal Case Nos. 15791 and 15793 and Criminal Case No. 15792 for violation of Republic Act 7610, otherwise known as Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, dated October 29, 2021. The court issued a recommended bail of Php200,000 for violation of RA 7610 and no bail for rape.
