LGU-Tandag challenges Tandagons to participate in the “No Smoking Day" on May 31
TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur – The Local Government Unit of Tandag headed by Mayor Roxanne Pimentel, will commemorate “World No Tobacco Day” as it remains steadfast in raising awareness of the deadly and harmful tobacco use, and the undesirable health effects of second-hand smoke exposure, amidst the challenges brought about by the pandemic.
This year’s theme for the celebration, “Tobacco, Threat To Our Environment”,aims to raise awareness on the negative environmental effects of tobacco, how it pollutes the earth and how it damages people’s health.To give meaning to the celebration, the said LGU calls on every Tandaganons’ to participate in the “NO SMOKING DAY CHALLENGE” on May 31, 2022. The one-day activity challenges All to give their lungs the most deserving break of at least a day from smoking.
Cigarette smokers, e-cigarettes/vape users, as well as non-smokers, are
enjoined to participate in the challenge by posting individual and/or group
photos (“selfie” or “groufie”) or videos on their Facebook accounts and/or
pages using the hashtag #WNTD2022 #NoSmokingDayChallenge #SmokeFreeTandag, and
mentioning the City Government of Tandag in the caption.
The challenge shall be in two categories - the Photo and the Video.
For the Photo Category, the prizes are 1st Place (Best Photo) – P1,500; 2nd
Place – P1,000; and 3rd Place – P500, while for the Video Category: 1st Place
(Best Video) – P2,000; 2nd Place – P1,500; and
3rd Place – P1,000 respectively.
Two (2) entries per category will luckily receive the Globe and Smart/TNT
prepaid cell cards as consolation prizes.
Participants may opt to join in one category only. Submission of entries shall
start at 8:00 am until 5:00 pm on May 31, 2022.
The winners shall be posted and announced on the official Facebook page of the
Local Government Unit of Tandag on June 1, 2022. (NGPB/with a report from
