SurSur Rep Pimentel has 73 House Measures enacted into law

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur – Incumbent and reelected Surigao del Sur 2nd District Representative Johnny Ty Pimentel has 73 of his House Measures enacted into law.
Cong. Pimentel was the principal author of the 266 House Measures, while 336 House Measures filed were co-authored by him.
As Representative from Surigao del Sur Pimentel has chaired the Special Committee on Strategic Intelligence since December 7, 2020.
Representative Pimentel was also holding a former Deputy Speaker from CY 2019 to 2020, Chairperson of the Congressional Oversight Committee on Tax Reform, Assistant Majority Leader, and Chaired the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
Republic Act No. 11709, which fixes the term of the key Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) officials and increases their retirement age, and Republic Act No. 11691, the law creating the Philippine Judiciary Marshals were among lthe laws Representative Pimentel has principally authored.
RA No. 11691 allows a separate and distinct security force that protects officials Judiciary, and court properties, while RA No. 11709, fixes the term of the key Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) officials and increases their retirement age, it was learned.
“RA No. 11909 seeks to cater continuity in our armed forces giving AFP chiefs more time to carry out reforms under their leadership,” the representative stated in a press statement.
Pimentel served as Governor of Surigao del Sur in 2010 to 2016. He first won a seat in the House of Representatives in 2016, secured a second term in 2019, and won his last term in this year's National and Local Elections.
Meanwhile, Congressman Pimentel is one among the seven House delegates who shall serve as the canvassers of the votes of the President and Vice President. This Constitutional duty will be carried out upon Congress’ resumption of session on May 23, 2022.
Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Deputy Speaker Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc, and Representatives Johnny Pimentel, Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, Jesus Crispin Remulla, Juliet Marie de Leon Ferrer, Stella Luz Quimbo, and Sharon Garin attended the briefing in preparation for the resumption and a joint session scheduled next week.
