Since its launching on April 7, 2022, hundreds of entries have been submitted to the RDO and revenue collection offices (RCOs) across the province. Revenue District Officer Atty. Dante E. Tan thanked the public's support for their raffle promo.
"I am overwhelmed... by the support of the taxpaying public of RDO 103 - Butuan City for participating in our raffle promo. It shows that taxpayers in Butuan City are very supportive," he said.
RDO 103 launched the raffle draw to encourage the consuming public of Butuan City and Agusan del Norte to ask for receipts/sales invoices in every transaction or purchase they make.
"In that way, it will compel our taxpayers to issue receipts everytime they sell, so that when they file their income tax or value-added tax returns, they will be able to declare the correct figures and pay the correct [amount of] taxes," Tan added.
The "Resibo Mo, Panalo Ko!" also forms part of RDO 103's initiative supporting BIR's Taxpayers' Awareness Program (TAP), which aims to enhance voluntary compliance of taxpayers by keeping them informed all the time regarding updates in tax administration through the conduct of information dissemination activities.
The raffle draw will run until December 2022, but will continue based on the demand and/or participation of the public.
Tan also called on taxpayers to extend their support to all the endeavors of the office.
"I would like to appeal to our dear taxpayers to participate not only in this program, but in all our endeavors. We consider you as partners in nation-building," the official said.
Those interested may drop their entries to the dropbox located at the RDO 103, J. Rosales Avenue, Butuan City, or in nearby RCOs. (DMNR/PIA-Caraga)
