DTI Dinagat Islands intensify its monitoring on prices of basic necessities and prime commodities
SAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands, May 18 (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the Province of Dinagat Islands through the Consumer Protection Unit has intensified its monitoring on prices of basic neccesities and prime commodities to protect the consumers in Basilisa town of the said province.
DTI Dinagat Islands Provincial Director Elmer Natad said the prices of basic necessities and prime commodites remain stable, and supply is still adequate in the municipality of Basilisa, Dinagat Islands, during its monthly monitoring conducted by the Consumer Protection Unit of DTI- Dinagat Islands.
There are two leading grocery stores being monitored monthly in Brgy. Tag- abaca, Basilisa town.
He said during the inspection, price tags were checked to ensure price fairness for all consumers, and for product standards monitoring, they surveyed seven establishments and found to be compliant with Product Standards.
Natad added, that all the stores/establishments were provided with information materials, namely, a list of products under mandatory certification, a guide table of steel bars standards, and required markings of construction materials. (Susil D. Ragas- PIA Dinagat Islands/DTI- Dinagat Islands)
