26IB embarks new challenges on its 38th Reactivation Anniversary

TALACOGON, AGUSAN DEL SUR – The 26th Infantry (Ever Onward) Battalion celebrates another milestone of serving the people in Agusan del Sur on 01 June 2022 with the theme “Ika-38 Taong Paglilingkod Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Maunlad na Pamayanan”.

Along with the 38th Reactivation Anniversary, the major highlights of the activity were the Donning of Ranks to 21 personnel of this unit who were promoted to the next higher rank, the Awarding of Plaques to Retiring Personnel, and the Awarding of Plaques to Stakeholders of this unit. 

The donned Ever Onward troopers were composed of three (3) Officers who were promoted to the rank of First Lieutenants, five (5) Sergeants, 11 Corporals, and two (2) Private First Class. Also, a Thanks giving Mass was held in the unit to gratify the Almighty Father for the 38th year of abundance and prosperity in serving the people presided by Reverend Father Jon E. Cajigas of St. Stanislao de Kostka, Parish of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur.

The unit was grateful to all stakeholders and partners who took part to realize the activity with its objective ̶ to build an atmosphere of cooperation, kindness, and harmonious relationship among the stakeholders and partner agencies that contributed to the overall accomplishment of the units mission.  

In a statement, Lt. Col Reynald Romel A Goce, the Battalion Commander of the 26th Infantry Battalion, expressed his gratitude for the continuous support and involvement of all partner agencies and stakeholders in the Battalion Campaign which led to the overall accomplishment of the unit’s mission in the Province of Agusan del Sur, “Everything was made possible because of the generous support of our partners, rest assured that the unit will remain active and ready to work with the local government units of Agusan del Sur for peace, security and development” he said. 

I personally congratulate my subordinates for their well-deserved promotion, this embarks new challenges and greater responsibilities as you go up the ladder of your military service, I am confident on your ability to adapt accordingly as we focus on our mission, and neutralize all kinds of threats in our area of operation, including our collaborative efforts with the LGUs to foster a whole of nation approach,” he added.

Several stakeholders were present during the event to include Hon. Alfelito M. Bascug, Representative, 1st District of Agusan del Sur; Hon. Santiago B. Cane Jr, Governor in the province of Agusan del Sur; Hon. Jesryl E. Masendo, Board Member, Agusan del Sur; Hon. Pauline Marie R. Masendo, the Municipal Mayor of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur; Local Government Units’ representatives; other partner agencies; private individuals; and business sector.
