Motorpool Rice Mill in Tubod upgrades facility through P2.5M iFund assistance from DOST
SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte - The Motorpool Rice Mill in Tubod, Surigao del Norte successfully upgraded its multi-pass rice mill facility.
The said rice mill was upgraded through the procurement of a brand new mist polisher and dust collector amounting to P2,500,000.00 funded under the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) with the project entitled “Technology Upgrading of Motorpool Multi-Pass Rice Mill through S&T Intervention”.
This initiative is in line with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) efforts to provide support mechanisms for startups, MSMEs (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) and the rice mill industries.
The upgraded facility is expected to address the technological gaps of the firm through science, technology, and innovation. To highlight, the equipment provided will yield high quality milled rice and maximizing the mill’s production capacity which will lead to better efficiency and market competitiveness of the milling services.
SETUP enables firms to address their technical problems through acquisition and transfer of technology interventions.
The DOST-Surigao del Norte is also inviting interested MSMEs in the province to avail of the SETUP Program.
