DOH-13 to recognize voluntary blood donors
BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Health (DOH) Caraga will recognize the contribution of voluntary and unpaid blood donors for their life-saving deed on June 14, 2022.
June 14 of every year is the World Blood Donor's Day. Voluntary donors are given recognition for selflessly donating their blood to people unknown to them. This celebration aims to raise awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products.With this year's theme "Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the
effort and save lives." the Department of Health (DOH) Caraga, encourages
everyone to commit to regularly undergo blood donation and share the good
message of the said selfless act.
All stakeholders are also encouraged to conduct advocacy activities in line
with the celebration to sustain voluntary and non-renumerated blood donation.
Donating blood does not only benefit the receiver. This will also help the
donor's production of new red blood cells and will result to better health.
Blood donation observes a three-month interval.
Meanwhile, apart from the regular conduct of Mobile Blood Donation in local
barangays, a special one-day Mobile Blood Donation will be conducted by the
City Health of Butuan on June 14 at 10:00am in SM City Butuan as support to the
