LTFRB awards SNOC to Cortes town in SurSur
CORTES, Surigao del Sur -- The local government unit (LGU) of Cortes, Surigao del Sur received the award of the Special Notice of Compliance (SNOC) from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) - Caraga on June 8, 202, as the lgu complied with the formulation of the Local Public Transportation Route Plan (LPTRP) of the municipality.
Cortes Mayor Josie Bonifacio received the SNOC from LTFRB Regional Director Jhorgene Paronia, witnessed by the personnel from the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) of Cortes, Surigao del Sur, members of Cortes Transport Service Cooperative (CORTRANSCO), and personnel from Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program - Regional Project Management Office (PUVMP-RPMO) Caraga.Director Paronia congratulated the LGU of Cortes for having successfully crafted the LPTRP of the said municipality.
He commended the lgu for the efforts, perseverance, and cooperation in complying with the route plan required by the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - Department of Transportation (DOTr) Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01 series of 2017.
The official added that team effort is an inspiration to the LTFRB
to better improve the lives of the commuters by holistically changing the land
transportation system.
The LPTRP shall be the minimum requirement prescribed for the issuance of
Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) franchises. The LPTRP crafted by the LGUs and
further evaluated by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), LTFRB, and
Transport and Traffic Planners Inc. (TTPI). Consequently, the LGUs that
successfully complied with the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) are
awarded with the Notice of Compliance/Special Notice of Compliance (NOC/SNOC).
The LGU of Cortes is the second municipality in Surigao del Sur province to
