Former CTG members voluntarily surrender to AgSur cops
AGUSAN DEL SUR – Three former Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members surrendered to the personnel of Philippine National Police (PNP) - Agusan del Sur headed by Police Colonel Jovito C Canlapan, Acting Provincial Director, on June 20, 2022.
The CTG personalities voluntarily surrendered and handed over the following items: one (1) unit revolver .357 (Smith and Wesson) with defaced serial number; one (1) unit revolver .3516 with defaced serial number; and one (1) unit Cal. 30 US Carbine M2 with Serial Number 1461475.
This is the result of the concerted efforts made in negotiating by personnel of Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (ADS-PIU) under Police Lieutenant Colonel Timothy S Arciso, Jr., and San Luis Municipal Police Station under Police Captain Mikhail M De Los Reyes.
PCol Canlapan commended the collaborative effort of all Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) joint forces in intensifying the mission to end local communists armed conflict in the province.
“ADSPPO continues to appeal to all active Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) Terrorists and NPA in the province to return to the folds of the law and become beneficiaries of the Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program or E-CLIP, and we are calling for the support of the public in the PNP's more serious and aggressive efforts against criminality and terrorism in the province,” he stated.
Surrendered former CTG members are currently in the Police Provincial Office while awaiting process for the availment of the E-CLIP. Further, surrendered items are in the custody of ADSPPO supply for safekeeping. (ADSPPO/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
