SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, Aug. 8 (PIA) -- The Department of Science and Technology – Caraga (DOST-Caraga), through its Provincial Science and Technology Center – Surigao del Norte (PSTC-SDN), signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Lakeview Bakery on August 5, 2022.
Lakeview Bakery is a duly registered single proprietorship business owned and managed by Mr. Alan Angelo L. Mozar. The proprietor has extensive experience and knowledge in sales, marketing, and management as he runs the bakery for almost three decades now. Mr. Mozar and his wife are active participants of the Mindanao WOFEX (World Food Expo) held annually.
Their attendance started on the year 2001 but stopped in year 2020 due to the community quarantine and pandemic lockdown.
The firm availed of the DOST SETUP in 2014 with P1 million iFund assistance for technology adoption of bakery equipment to boost the firm’s productivity and competitiveness. However, the existing equipment has already depreciated due to mass production of bread daily. With the continuous increase in demand, the firm recognized the need for technology upgrading to improve its overall operations. Thus, Lakeview Bakery sought for its second availment of SETUP iFund assistance from DOST.
During the MOA signing, DOST-Surigao del Norte and Lakeview Bakery pledged to extend their full support and commitment for the effective implementation of the aforementioned SETUP project.
