NAPOLCOM-13 gears up IEC campaign for 2022 NCPW
BUTUAN CITY -- The National Police Commission
(NAPOLCOM) Regional Office 13 is gearing up its information, education, and
communication (IEC) campaign in line with the observance of the National Crime
Prevention Week (NCPW) on September 1 to 7, 2022.

L. Calo on Thursday said that the activities lined up by NAPOLCOM-13 for this
year’s NCPW is geared towards discussing crimes that have proliferated since
the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In the past years, NAPOLCOM, in celebration of
NCPW, focused on activities concerning COVID-19. Many crimes have risen
since the pandemic such as rape, wherein this crime has continued to rise this
year. NAPOLCOM and PNP have seen the increase of crime rates so now, we will be
holding activities to tackle these crimes to help prevent their occurrence,”
she said.
Calo added that NAPOLCOM Central Office has also
taken charge of hosting webinars online that will be participated by target
sectors.
NAPOLCOM-13 partnered with the Butuan City Police
Office (BPCO) and barangay local government units in Butuan City to conduct
community services on September 2. On the same day, a webinar on Cybercrime
will be hosted by the NAPOLCOM Central Office via Zoom.
A webinar entitled “Prosecution and Courts” will
also be hosted by the Central Office on September 5.
NAPOLCOM-13 plans on establishing the Student
Crime Prevention Committee, which they will be presenting to the Commission on
Higher Education (CHED) Caraga on September 6.
Three webinar episodes will be aired on September
7 by NAPOLCOM Central Office that will tackle sexual abuse and exploitation,
correction services, and the best community-based crime prevention initiatives.
Calo also shared that its Central Office will be
recognizing local police stations and other units of the Philippine National
Police (PNP) that have implemented best practices on Community and Service-Oriented
(CSOP) System and crime prevention initiatives in time with the Commission’s
anniversary on September 8.
