SAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands -- The Department of Trade and Industry-Dinagat Islands presented the Buy Local, Support Local program during the Provincial Development Council-Economic Development Committee Meeting held recently at the Old SP Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, Barangay Cuarenta, San Jose town.
One of DTI’s strategies for economic recovery and helping the micro-enterprises bounce back is the buy local campaign, which aims to institutionalize through the issuance of an executive order or ordinance prescribing for the allocation of at least 10% of the total procurement value of the LGUs, national government agencies (NGAs), and other agencies holding offices in the locality for locally-produced goods and services and their promotion thereof. The advocacy also aims to support and promote the marketing initiative of local producers to LGUs and further strengthen and increase patronage of the local products.
During the PDC-EDC meeting, the members committed to adopt and endorse the initiative to the Provincial PDC. (DTI- Dinagat Islands/PIA- Dinagat Islands)
