PWD receive livelihood assistance from prov’l gov’t of SurSur
BAROBO, Surigao del Sur -- The Provincial Government Office of Surigao del Sur under the administration of Governor Alexander T. Pimentel, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) spearheaded the turnover of the livelihood assistance to the Federation of Persons with Disabilities earlier today, November 7 at the Terraza Victoria, Barobo, Surigao del Sur.
According to PSWDO chief Hershe Lorenzana-NuΓ±ez, the check is worth Php150,000.00 for livelihood assistance.
The said amount accordingly will support the Bangus Production Project managed by the Federation of Persons with Disability in the Municipality of Barobo, NuΓ±ez added.
The check was received by Nancy Silva, Chairwoman of the Social Committee, with the presence of the Local Chief Executive of LGU-Barobo, Joey Pama, witnessed by the PWD chapter presidents and members.
Meanwhile, the said assistance is in lined with the program implementation of the PSWDO. It is intended for disabled persons to be empowered and to attain a more meaningful, productive, and satisfying way of life and ultimately become self-reliant and contributing members of society.
