PMO Surigao Reaches Out to Mentally-Challenged Persons, Disadvantaged Youth
SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- In the Spirit of Christmas and in keeping up with the tradition of generosity to the less fortunate, the Port Management Office of Surigao has chosen to share blessings through an Outreach Activity Program which benefited mentally challenged persons and the disadvantaged, orphaned youth today.
Around fifty gift packs were put up and given to mentally challenged individuals under the care of the Surigao City Social Welfare and Development Office while another fifty bundles of joy were distributed to homeless, orphaned and disadvantaged youth housed in the Charisma Bethel Children’s Home.
The gift packs contained toiletries, clothing items and various foodstuffs.
“Christmas is all about sharing. We hope that this modest gesture of generosity will give our mentally-challenged brothers and sisters, as well as the disadvantaged and orphaned youth, enough reasons to celebrate the holidays,” Acting PMO Surigao Port Manager Froilan Caturla said in his remarks.
